So tell me about this rematch clause.

Bute is saying he might not go straight into a rematch off a loss, meaning he might take an easier fight first, so is froch allowed to take a fight between now and the rematch? What if froch loses the title, what will be on the line for the rematch?

Id imagine the clause is a "immediate" rematch therefore if bute signs elsewhere then froch would be free to do as he pleases. Butes camp are smart enough to know a rematch straight away after such a devastating loss is not in there fighters best interests. If thats how he performed high on confidence how is he gonna fair straight away against a guy who has just destroyed his unbeaten record.

Remember Lewis going to court to enforce his rematch clause against Rahman.

Also, Pavlik chose not to enforce his against Martinez.

Still not sure what Bute will do, it will be in his backyard after all.

At the post fight press conference, Eddie Hearn said Bute won't be able to fight for the title as he's just been knocked out, so it'd have to be a non title rematch or they'd have to fight someone else first

Bute had been champ since 2007 how the **** did he hang on to the belt for so long ? I bet he as made a fair few million from the sell out fights at Montreal and I bet he was paid well for the froch fight so he may well retire

It’s my first loss, but it’s not the end of the world,” he said. “I’ll be back. I need some rest right now, but I know I have the character to rebound.

“I lost a lot of fights as an amateur and I always came back.”

Heard there was a clause stating if either guy was stopped before 6 the rematch
    was then nullified.

Tricky for Bute now doesn't have anything to bring to the table now really.

Pavlik had a rematch clause against Martinez and didn't take it.

Bute is facing a death sentence if he signs up for that rematch.

Yeah there's no way he wants the rematch. People talk of him rematching Andrade but he was winning that fight before he got knocked out so it's not like he had anything to worry about. This one is different, he got absolutely demolished.
