If Williams and Mayweather fought at WW, I think that would be his easiest fight stylistically. Although it wouldn't be an easy fight.

NICE POST:good I think the other way around..I think if floyd beat manny than a rematch could happen..i think THE ICING ON THE CAKE WOULD BE WINNING THE MW TITLE AND THAN RETIRING...2 VICTORIES OVER THE CONSENSUS BEST OF THIS ERA AND A W OVER THE MW CHAMP...TAKE THE FIGHT AT 155 TOO..JUST LIKE MANNY WOULD DO..ITS STILL "AT MIDDLEWEIGHT" EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT THE LIMIT

OK, I agree that Pac and Williams are fights that Floyd should fight at 147.

However, Martinez is just an example of how people are trying to create a fighter to beat Mayweather. Firstly, Williams beat him so surely that is the priority. Secondly he is old so people won't accept it if Floyd beats him like Mosley.

This thread is a good idea though because if he was to fight these three and of course I have to put "if" you would see threads saying Floyd is ducking other challenges. Probably Kahn, Berto and Bradley.

Some people just hate Mayweather and nothing he does will stop it.

I don't know why people take Williams over PBF when Williams gets tagged in every damn fight he's been in. Margarito landed shots. Martinez landed shots. Quintana landed shots. Even Walter Matthysse got some very good shots in on Williams. But 'ole Floyd is going to struggle with no defense ass Paul Williams....okay.

Even worse, Floyd's critics are going to claim that Williams was overrated and that Williams received gift decisions against Margarito and Martinez and was soundly beaten by b-fighter Carlos Quintana.

Personally, I don't think Williams matches up well at all with Floyd. Floyd's got the speed advantage, is far too precise of a puncher, and Paul leaves too many openings. I think Mayweather puts a masterclass on him and I'd bet accordingly if the fight got made.

That said, I'd still give Floyd plenty of credit for facing a bigger, younger, tough fighter like Williams because I gave him props for beating an older Mosley because of how he made it look. I think Floyd would make it look easy to beat Williams, and that's why he'd deserve appreciation for it. In fact, I wouldn't discount any wins against the 3 names mentioned here and Floyd's legacy would get a boost from beating any of 'em.

i agree with you totally....yer probably right....especially after a win over pac...people would really be enamored with floyd...and there would probably be too much money in it to let it pass...one more big payday to secure the future and a great way to put the final chapter in his legacy

I think the biggest thing Martinez brings to the table is the lineal middleweight championship of the world. Williams may have beaten Martinez in a razor close fight, but Martinez is the one who has the titles now.

That's the allure for Mayweather-Martinez. It'd be a history-making fight for Floyd if he won it as long as he did it at 160 and the title was on the line.

Paul Williams would beat Mayweather. Floyd would probably beat Martinez. Pacman is a 50/50 fight imo

I think Floyd easily deals with Martinez & PW. Easily. He outboxes them with relative ease...I mean what can Martinez really do to Floyd? PW was outboxed by Quintana, Floyd is atleast 3 levels above him.

Pac is his only real threat south of MW.

They would all be great wins but the closest Floyd would be to being at close odds in a fight is with Pac. Bookies have it close enough as 50/50 fight. He will be strong favourite in the other matchups.

If Floyd fights Williams and Martinez at 154 and up and wins I don't see how anyone can complain about that. Any catch weight though is a ***** move.

I don't see how you can say that when he hasn't even fought anyone near their level yet.

You have a point but no matter what people will say he is ducking Williams so if he doesn't face him he will get slated by boxing fans.

Also, it was a close fight but Williams got the nod and the only reason Martinez has the title and not Williams is because Pavlik got injured so Sergio got in their first.

I say Martinez rematches Williams and the winner faces Mayweather if he beats Pac.

It is funny. Martinez is now the one to beat Floyd. Why? Because he beat Pavlik or because people are just looking to find a replacement for the threat that was supposed to come from Shane?

Martinez would put up a decent fight, but he gets decisioned by Floyd. Probably would put up more of a fight than Williams or Pacquiao.

Williams would be like Corrales part II.

Pacquiao would have some early moments, but he would soon be very frustrated and open himself up even more. Floyd would break him down and likely end it in the latter rounds from accumulation of punishment.

If Floyd disposed of the three, three more fighters would be thought up that were supposedly threats to Floyd. Probably Khan, Bradley, Alvarez, Berto, ect. Well yeah, he would eventually lose due to age. Hell, he is not really "prime" now. He's been above his best weights for years now. Still good enough to handle any of the above.

I suppose if Floyd got in the ring with 3 Lions, 2 Tigers and a Crocodile he would beat them too
