If you had both hit a heavy bag, probably. But in terms of timing and accuracy, much like Floyd Mayweather, strengthens his punches. Ali has more power then Joe Frazier because he knocked out Foreman. Oscar is a harder puncher then Mosley because he knocked out Mayorga in 6. Hearns is a harder puncher then Hagler because he knocked out Duran in 2. Need I go on? I know your stupidity is limitless but I hope I was able to atleast paint you a paint by numbers picture here. How do you figure? He hasnt fought a live opponent in 2 years. Before Calzaghe his resume was hardly breataking, and Mundine looked like he was able to land the jab on Kesslers dome pretty consistenty, what makes you think a much better/faster boxer wont get to Kessler? Meaningless. He hurt and broke down his opponents by accumulation, its what pure boxers do. Mayweather doesnt ahve many straight up knockouts, but everyone of his opponents will tell you he hit harder then what people like you said he did.
It shows what a versatile fighter Ward is. He can get rough if he has to, or box and move if he has to. the qualities of a champion.
Kessler was later in his career. Me thinks however, the so called lack of power had more to do with step up in competition rather then unbelievable knockout strength before he hurt his hands.
im jumping on the wagon, ward will dominate kessler from round 1 to 12 i dont think he will hurt kessler but he will out class and frustrate kessler Ward wide UD
Smart move, lucius...and nice work, Rand...you know some Boxing...unlike the majority of posters here... Posters who are blind to the fact that Kessler is the one who's up against it here... Check it out....IF Kessler makes it close or even edges it, the Decision WILL go to Ward...oh yes...there will be payback for Froch-Dirrell if the opportunity presents itself... which means Kessler is pretty much gonna have to stop Ward to win...because he can't outbox him, he can't outskill him, and he can't outadapt him...so that's why Kessler only has A Puncher's Chance in this matchup... and here's the REAL kicker....Ward's Pedigree and Boxing IQ won't allow that Puncher's Chance to materialize... Old Calzaghe fans....Danes....Anti-American Eurofans...guess what?...you can start shittin'...because Kessler is DOOMED.
Hey dumb ass I said Ward is the weakest puncher in the tournamnat, that means out of the 6 boxers in the tournament. lol you're an idiot if you think Ali-Forman applies to the Andy Kolle fight. Andre Ward was hitting Andy Kolle with everything but the kitchen sink and Kolle had to QUIT on his stool because of a bad cut. Williams hit Kolle with everything and the fight lasted one round. Mayorga is a much better boxer than Andy Kolle. I use the Andy Kolle fight as an example because he was a tomato can, Mayorga can at least put up a fight. Oh and DLH's and Mosleys power were about equal during their prime. Kessler's resume is still better than Ward. Ward from what I've seen is a very vulnerable boxer; slow feet and he's very chinney. Once he gets clocked it's light out. He does have power to hurt his opponents, although against Miranda it didn't seem like Ward was hurting him. And why the hell are you comparing Mayweather to Ward? Mayweather was a puncher from 130-140, his power is decent at 147 is what you seem to forget.
Andrade punches harder then ward and never hurt Kessler. as a matter a fact Mundine is no slouch in the power dept either what about Manny Sica? you obviously havent been watching this division very long. any how Kessler has a great chin how many times has he been down? how many times has ward been down . look into things b4 you talk about fighters chin's never being tested. And Sica was a pretty powerful puncher. and i belive Andrade hits harder then anyone Ward has faced. i'm a big fan of ward being from the bayarea and following him since his amature days but some of the people backing him on the website seem desprate to grasp at straws . really i don't know why but people need to look at the facts
:rofl Good post. As I said. if Kessler wants to win he'll have to start throwing bombs early, he's not gonna outbox Ward.
Look I got nothing against Ward, but he's not a puncher, and comparing him to Mayweather is ludicrous, because Mayweather was never a natural welterweight till now. He has decent power at 147, but he's not a volume puncher and Ward does not have Mayweather's skills and abilities. Ward is a natural SMW and he still doesn't hit hard.
your right and Kessler is a master at both. how many Kessler fights have you seen? how many ward fights have you seen? Ward is a very good fighter. but Kessler is better.
Again you arent following. Calzaghe hurt Kessler. Why? Because of timing and accuracy. Andrade is probably stronger then Calzaghe, but he cant time his punches, is virtually a walking punching bag, and not much of a boxer. real power means little. Mundine hasnt KO'd anyone in 2 years. And thats while fighting Australian Journeymen. And why would I know who Sica is? Again stop listing the bum of the week as some sort of measuring stick of Kesslers power. Simple he hasnt fought anyone. The good opponent he did fight, hurt him.
Andrade is probably Kessler's best win...I like him as a fighter too...but here's what's funny....Andrade is now 10 times better than when he lost to Kessler...his pressure is more educated, and he's added a couple of shots to his punch variety... and he's STILL a B- brawler. LMAO!...that's how "great" that win was... Do you Calzaghe, I mean, Kessler fans even realize this?
