In the most recent article provided by ESPN, is says that Camp Pacquiao is already thinking/expecting a "No" from Mayweather; because so, they have listed Margarito & Cotto as possibly opponents for Pacman at 154.

I think Manny is a great fighter, and has come very far in his career. But I will not be duped into believing a fight and victory over Cotto at 154 is a legit win for a title in a record 8th weight class. That would be something that I believe would drag boxings name threw the mud if it were to happen.

If Manny wants to fight at 154 against Margarito than let him, I won't buy it and to me it proves nothing, whether he wins or loses. The simple fact that Marquez is not named, or has not been named shows they don't want that fight, which I believe beside fighting Mayweather would bring the most money for Manny.

Mayweather would be stuck in the same position, no other names out there excite or really add that much to his legacy. Going up to middleweight to face Martinez may help legacy wise but he would still have to face a southpaw (which I do believe is Mayweather's poison) and one who actually might have more advantages than Manny would.

In the end the risk vs reward is best balanced when they face each other. If the fight were to come off, it would be the only time ever that I would WANT Floyd to win, if he doesn't take this fight his name will never ever be mentioned with the likes of Hearns, Leonard, Robinson, Duran, Ali....:nono

:patschAll the kids everyone wants to see Floyd beat up are southpaws: emmanuel poochiao, Sergio Martinez, and Paul Williams.

Martinez being the easiest, emmanuel poochiao in the middle, and Williams the toughest fight.

Anyways, just remember that southpaws are open to the straight right hand, and Floyd throws one of the best right hands of all time. Southpaw livers are also easier to exploit, Floyd knows it and loves to pound the **** out of it against southpaws.

What i wanna know is how would manny & margarito be fighting for the vacant wbc title. Manny's never been @ that weight & margarito beat garcia at 154, how do they get title shots that easy?

Mayweather may have the southpaw killer in his arsenal but his track record has shown trouble against southpaws. So even a title shot against Martinez is not a sure "W".

And on the note of Manny, he is on unconventional southpaw too!

i wouldn't consider being hit w/ a few good shots & losing a few rounds showing trouble. Look at the final scorecards, those lefty's got schooled just like most of the right handed fighters he faced. It's a different look, so it takes more time for him to adjust, but he always has. I think he beats martinez in a good fight. Imo martinez would be more competitive than manny.

He beat southpaw Corley in every round. Southpaw Mitchell isn't even worth talking about. Southpaw Zab Judah was easily figured out after two rounds.

Southpaws are more tricky for EVERY fighter, even southpaws don't like fighting other southpaws. Floyd gets caught with a few left hands, recovers fine, and ends up beating their AZZes during the rest of the rounds. That's not bad for someone who is "troubled".

Every southpaw whose fought Floyd has been moar open to his right than he is to their left.

Martinez is a southpaw that has poor balance, lunges in, and fights with his hands down. The most accurate right hand in the business is perfect for Martinez.

emmanuel poochiao does worse against Floyd's breed, counter-punchers, than Floyd does towards poochiao's kind.

Can hit afford to get hit with a few good shots from a Manny left hand. Better yet can he afford to give away a few rounds against a very complete fighter in Manny.
