http://youtu.be/3ecDRS98ArM Round 3 (1:29) and Round 9 (1:40) He got hit with a good punch twice by a much bigger guy who by the way had knocked out 16 of his 23 opponents. But anyways, if this the reason people say Rigondeaux has NO chin, then good luck. If thats the case then the argument can also be made that he has the fastest recovery time in the history of the sport.
Rigo is probably not used to getting hit imo. The guy got a pretty outstanding defense and it may be his downfall. If Rigo can avoid or withstand Donaire's punch then he have a SERIOUS chance of upset.
his survival/recovery skills is much better than his chin.. that's what's important.. a big puncher knocking him out is easier said than done..
Donaire hits far harder than Marroquin and throws more than one punch at a time and plus is a more talented boxer who is not coming off a defeat to a **** with a 14-5-3 record.
It's a myth, Rigondeaux has a very good chin but it wont matter when Nonito plants his huge left hook on his chin.
did u guys see what donaire did to montiel and darchinyan? what do u think is gonna happen to little rigondeaux if he gets hit with a punch like that? those guys have good beards. the jackal was knocked down by a jab in his fight against córboda. A JAB. there's just no way rigo wins this fight. i just can't see it happening. he doesnt have the fire power to stop donaire and he doesnt have the fire power to keep him off him for 12 rounds. anything other than a ko win for donaire would surprise me.
The Rigo glass chin theory is as absurd as the Donaire ducking theory. It's just backlash from the nonsensical BS about Donaire avoiding him. Anyways, he is vulnerable, and Donaire can stop a man with one punch, so you can't blame those who predict a KO loss for Rigo.
the problem with rigo: everytime you touch him, he loses his legs, btw he was kd'ed by a jab in cordoba fight. the punch that hurt rigo in round 9 (1:40), was a pretty weak arm punch, that wasnt type of hook, that donaire, ggg or danny garcia throw.
With close to 400 am fights, 20 or so years in boxing and thousands of sparring rounds during those years, you think he is not used to it?! If anything, I think his chin could even be softened up from all of that. Softened up before he even turned pro..
