So, three weeks out with Dubois MIA, why do we think he cancelled?

Why did Dubois pull out from the Parker fight?

  2. He knew an Usyk deal was near

    47.5%
  3. Cold feet

    16.3%
  4. Pissing hot for PEDs

    25.0%
  5. Other

    2.5%

No. This happened at the very last minute, and then Dubois made it quite clear that he had no intention of fighting Parker, and simply wanted to skip him and meet Uysk again instead. In addition, Parker had packed on like 20 lbs of muscle and looked highly motivated for this fight. Don't be gullible. This was a calculated move by Dubois and his team.

If you want to duck someone you don't let it get to the last 24/48 hours. Parker was a "gap fight" for Dubois before the Usyk rematch he doesn't really care about. And people who see Parker as more then he is are confusing that for something else.

I'm not gullible. I'm as jaded and subversive as they come. This is boxing. Not everything in life is a conspiracy.

Respectfully, you say "If you want to duck someone you don't let it get to the last 24/48 hours" when in fact, Tyson Fury once pulled out of a fight after the freaking weigh in. There are lots of cases of last-minute pull-outs, which badly hurts the sport of boxing. If Dubois really were sick, 1) he would have declared this a week before and 2) the fight would have been postponed, not cancelled. Dubois made it very clear that he had no intention of fighting Parker, period, and wanted to skip him and fight Usyk instead. Now he is having to deal with the consequences of his stupid, self-centered decision. In the meantime, the fans got hosed, which is increasingly common in this sport, and makes it less and less popular, and even less credible, over the course of time.

Tyson Fury is Tyson Fury. Thats different.

I'm saying if you want to duck someone you don't let it get to the last 24/48 hours. Last minute pullouts happen, I'm saying if one is truly unwilling to fight someone its not going to get to that point. Signing a contract to fight someone you have no intention of fighting and letting a whole event get set up and pulling the rug out from under it when everyones already in their hotels is incredibly inconsiderate and unneccessary to avoid fighting someone.

Have you ever had a cold? "If Dubois really were sick, 1) he would have declared this a week before and 2) the fight would have been postponed, not cancelled." You're making it sound like you don't understand the timeline of having a cold. Its not a weekly notice sort of thing really. It can come out of nowhere.

Yeah hes not willing to push back the Usyk fight to fight Parker. So? You're taking indifference to be fear. The Usyk rematch is a bigger priority to him than fighting Parker. Usyk is the lineal champ who beat Dubois in controversial matter. Thats the priority for him. That doesn't mean hes scared of Parker or isn't willing to fight Parker. Dubois has less history of ducking than any HW champion since Wlad Klitschko. Hes the anti duck if anything.

It's cool. I understand your position. Right now I am more interested in how all this plays out. I still think Parker deserves a fight wtih Usyk, and Dubois doesn't deserve diddly squat. I will laugh long and loud if he actually does end up fighting Chisora in a completely meaningless match, while Parker fights Usyk. But, we shall see.
