Odd one! Both my parents are "English, not British!" so that should qualify me. BUT I was actually born in Spain, so it's a complicated affair (it isn't)

What I actually meant is that you don't back and/or favor the British fighter no matter what, when up against a foreigner.

Hahaha, oh right, well I guess that goes with the territory either way. Very much do not do that, in fact the extreme partisan nature of some Brits makes me go against them at times

This fight could happen on 18 th May in Chicago. It's a very tough fight for Usyk, wouldn't be surprised if Povetkin wins.

Had a feeling this would be his entrance bout to the heavyweight division, and I have to say fair play to both fighters for taking it, if this proves to be the case. I have no doubt that Usyk has been rebuffed by some big names for his first fight, and let’s face it, if they too agreed he would be an easy fight because of ‘size’ or ‘glass jaw’ (?!) or whatever else I see banded around this forum then I have no doubt they would take it - he would be a great name to add to your resume. I think the truth is that many of these pro’s know he’s a very dangerous opponent, and I believe there is a real respect for Usyk from within those in the eye of the boxing business. I wouldn’t like to predict the outcome of this fight, but I have the greatest admiration for Oleksandr Usyk if this is the fight that is made - look at the resumes of nearly all decent heavyweight fighters, and look whom their first few fights were against, even being 225lbs and upwards from the off, they have been very careful to build an unbeaten resume by not going straight in with the likes of Povetkin. Usyk has big balls, no question about that, and if he wins, then he’ll surely be fighting (another) one of the top names in the division next.

Really hope this fight gets made. Hell of a fight to begin with and only a 4 hour drive for me.
