Katsidis was no doubt given the option to pull out of the bout with Marquez when his brother died. Berto lost a member of his family if I'm not mistaken, didn't he?

I know that's an extreme comparison, but losing a member of the family, etc...is very much a valid reason to drop out of a bout, signed or not. And it was the reason, everything else is conspiracy.

You are actually asking the wrong question. The question that should be asked...especially to all of the "geniuses" that believed that Mosley was Shot when he fought FMJ, is: "Where are any of their Threads/Post saying that Mosley was indeed Shot prior to the Floyd Fight?" I would imagine there is NO documentation or NOTHING "on-record" of any of these posters saying this.

Very true...before the fight, everyone was talking about how Floyd would NEVER take on Mosley because Mosley was too dangerous. Coming off a performance like the one he had against Margarito made him look like a monster (Margarito was supposedly indestructable before that fight), so everyone assumed Mosley was still a very big threat. I do think the long layoff hurt him, but I don't think he was shot by any means. He might've been on the downturn, but not shot.

Honestly, something I noticed before the fight was how POOR Mosley looked against a fringe contender like Mayorga. He was getting tagged left and right in the early portion of the fight, and I thought if MAYORGA can do that to him, Floyd should be able to find his chin even more often.

But that affects the perception of the win quality, now the level of challenge. Mosley probably isn't *worse* going into the Pacquiao fight than he was going into the Mayweather fight. It will have only been a year and Mosley has a more favorable stylistic matchup against Pacquiao then he did against Mayweather.

Mosley was most peoples P4P 3 or 4 interchangeable with JMM. I think he was a shadow of his former self when he fought Floyd but he was still the number one WW so there was meaning to that fight.

Don't put your head in the sand. Berto pulled out of the Mosley fight in January only to fight Quinatana in April, BEFORE Mosley and Mayweather fought each other. Why didn't they just postpone the Mosley vs Berto fight? It's not like they brought in a substitute.

Weren't they going to postpone the bout though? But Berto eventually pulled out...

Mayweather v Mosley is/was a much bigger bout than Berto v Mosley. Mayweather was "planning" on facing Pacquiao in May, if I'm not mistaken. This was probably the reason that particular date was chosen, and why Berto fought before Mosley.

good explanation and your right floyd fought who we wanted him to fight he was forced to take the fight your feelings arnt wrong floyd said if i fight yall will say hes too old or he has 5 losses well hes half right nobody looked at his losses but all said he was old I not long came here before that fight was talk of the town
everybody here called floyd scared he fought the guy were the love at?

Margarito issue wasnt that he was mentally ****ed because he had more incentive to win to say it aint the bricks. I think it was just that mosley will **** any body that will stand infront of him and dont get on his bike and box I know winky and forrest beat him nicely but floyd is smaller then them
but I forgot he couldnt make the weight for jmm and i said that day he is a true welter and should be able to control him like forrest or wright did
