So ...... was that Tyson Fury "cashing out" ?

that's similar to what Hearn serves up though, except most of the time, the main event isn't even decent. Not arguing that the Fury/Wilder undercard was in any way better than "one-sided shite" because how you described it, is exactly how it was. But Hearn serves up muck like that more often than not.

 

He did win that fight, regardless of the scorecards.

It was clear for all to see, and those that deny it are absolutely nuts.

Cash out???

Not a single chance it was, what it showed was that Fury is no joke and against all the odds, against all the nay sayers, against everybody that had written him off and mocked him, it was a massive Fcuk you I am going to show you, and he did.

So to all those that mocked laughed and dismissed him, Fcuk you all too...

Well done Tyson Fury, a genuine fighting man, not a manufactured hype job sjhthouse.

 

Undercard sucked balls but this was a rare instance (like AJ-Wlad) where the main event is enough for it not to matter too much. And boy, both of them delivered on that front

 

Undercard had nothing. Although I liked Joe Joyce's finish. I find it hard to assess where Joe is and where he's going to be. He looks dreadful at times but he's another freak of nature, 6 foot 6, heavier than Fury but ripped. He can bang and has a great engine. Hope he steps up soon!

 

I'm a big believer that PPV is all about the main event. Anything good on the undercard is just a bonus.

And what a main event that one was! I'm seriously excited to see a rematch with a better conditioned Fury. Please let it happen!

 

I had no issue with the undercard. My opinion of undercards hasn't changed. If you have a top class main event that is what people are paying for, interested in and the undercard can be used for a few prospects to get some exposure or returning names to get rounds in. This was one of those fights, likewise Joshua Klitschko.

If the main event isn't as competitive, or features one big name against someone he's likely to beat easily, then the undercard becomes more important as you need to present a good night of boxing. Cases in point, Brook v Gavin and Joshua v Molina were never going to be great fights, but collectively the undercards (Whyte Chisora, Selby Gradovich, Linares Mitchell, Burton Buglioni, Joshua Johnson, Concepcion Yafai) were very solid overall.

 

You don’t put in all that work for a cash out. I’m no fan of Fury personally but the man has to be respected for Saturday night. If anything the draw will probably spur him on.

 

Never ever thought it was a cash out, some of the posts on here beforehand from the likes of @Mod-Mania & @Infern0121 lacked class imo as they were desperate for him to fail.

Fury is destined to be an all time great of boxing. His skills, his charisma in and outside the ring, great talker and one of the greatest boxing comebacks ever.

 

Finger crossed he stays in shape. If he does, he's destined for more greatness. If he keeps blowing up, he'll keep getting caught heavily like Saturday. I like the idea of Freddie continuing to help in the camp.

 

Wtahced the fight back trying to see how you can give wilder rounds and honestly can’t see him winning any clear rounds, could have round one 10-10 but couldn’t give it to wilder

How can judges get it so wrong??

Apart from 9 & 12, there were no clear rounds for me either bud. There are one, perhaps two benefit of the doubt rounds you could give him but that’s being very generous. Despite the knockdowns in round 9 & 12, he still outfought him in them rounds.

 

This is a post I made during the Fury-Pianeta RBR.

There was a massive overreaction from the masses to Fury’s fights against Seferi and Pianeta. Against Seferi, and I said this at the time too, he was clowning around and having fun quite clearly. Yet some people said he was done.

Against Pianeta Fury looked great. Went the distance with no problem, footwork was good, movement excellent.

People were so convinced by Hearn’s idiotic and jealous ramblings after Fury rebuffed him. If anyone watched the Pianeta fight objectively you’d see that he was the same Tyson. Maybe people should ignore what Hearn says rather than treat him as the be all and end all in British boxing.

Hearn for weeks was deriding Fury saying he was “cashing out”, that he would get knocked out and that he was boring. Look what happened: he won the fight, put on a spectacular fight and has huge money fights lined up now.

One man has ended up looking truly stupid after all of this and I love it.
