I think its totally different if Canelo did it. Canelo hasn't ever made a song as dance about his desire to collect all the belts, and he hasn't dismissed money not being a motivating factor. Golovkin has "all I want is all the belts and if they won't fight me then drop the belts". Its chalk and cheese. Golovkin cops heat over not fighting Derevyachenko because its a mandatory he should have fulfilled, and he now won't fulfill that because he is fighting for money - as opposed to fighting for belts. It is obvious, and it exposes Golovkin as a fraud, because he has always maintained he was fighting for the belts. Now we know that wasn't - and isn't - the case. Canelo has never maintained he was only fighting for the belts. So yes it is different.

 

He's obviously fighting for money first and foremost so fair enough to call him on it.

Canelo claimed to not **** around though and he has been ****ing around for years now with dodgy catchweights, carefully selected opponents and Mexican beef. His career descended into farce a fair while ago.
