one small problem with that....looking from the other side of it.....how on earth could paulie, or wba, or boxing authorities or whoever....as corrupt as boxing is....justify that fight.

Agree with this. Very poor, timing awful, the snap of his punches was gone, plus marked up heavily and punch resistance nothing like it used to be. Added to this he looked a very old 34 year old in the ring.

A case of too many hard fights in the past. He should stay retired IMO, otherwise he is going to get seriously hurt I fear.

correct....but, i think...drop a level or two...continued sparring and training...he could look better next time out...if only due to slight improvement and level of opposition...which brings me back to the british title......if he had to fight witter instead of gavin he'd be well happy today and would all his fans...nobody would have seen it as anything only a success....anyway...coulda, shoulda etc...

Difficult to say really. Obviously he's totally shot to pieces at end fringe world level and has been for years, but it wouldn't suprise me if we saw hm fighting again.

Oh don't worry about that, they would if they wanted to, especially if Hatton won a tune up fight first

I think he'll probably fight Malignaggi in Brooklyn next year, if he wants any chance at all of winning that fight though he needs to keep in very good shape for the next 6 months and try and improve on his speed, timing, and head movement otherwise i could see him getting stopped by Paulie.

there is no point in him having tune up fights anyway, if he does have them he just goes back to square one a few weeks after the fight

there is no chance he will keep training for 6months, he will do his 12 week bull**** and reckon that is good enough as other fighters have 8 weeks specific preparation for each fight

Yeah, truthfully, deep down he probably thinks he can beat Malignaggi.
Get him an easy easy tune-up on an undercard in 3 or 4 months time, then throw him in with Paulie.
There's really no need for him to retire for good.

I mean, he should have stayed retired and a little bit fat. All that effort to get in shape, he might as well milk it.

Well he said the right things at the post-fight press conference. He's got his answer and would struggle to convince himself otherwise.

However, if that lickle voice on his shoulder comes back, he may need medication to shut it up.

Absolutely disagree. Malignaggi would probably stop Hatton at this point. Hatton is worn out and a old man at this point, he still makes the same mistakes (uses his head as a defensive weapon). The jab of Malignaggi would be to much for Hatton and most certainly he would be walking on to the jab all night.

Malignaggi is a decent boxer, with a good chin, and good work-rate. Hatton wouldn't last 12 rounds with a fit Malignaggi. Hatton is just.. to old for this game now.

I hope Hatton stays away for his health and his family. He has nothing to prove. Hatton lost to the best two P4P fighters in the world, and that's nothing to be ashamed about.

    He wont fight again.

Once he said the words “I don’t have it anymore” that was him done forever.

After getting beat by Mayweather he had the “referee excuse”. After getting destroyed by PacMan he had the, “worst training camp ever excuse”

This time he doesn’t have any excuse…

If Hatton had managed to scrape home, I reckon there is a good chance he would have retired anyway.
