He's not coming back, and he most certainly wouldn't be fighting Paulie. If he had fought Paulie instead of Senchenko it might have been a bigger spectacle, but he would have risked the humiliation of getting stopped by a supposed feather fisted fighter whom he had previously beaten comfortably. Senchenko was exactly the right opponent, he told Hatton what he needed to know, and what any reasonable minded boxing fan already knew.
I can't help but think that had he had a tune-up fight rather that choosing to go straight in with Senchenko, he would have had far more success if the Senchenko fight happened after that. I think it was almost arrogant to assume he could go straight in at that level after a 3 year lay off.
You would really like to think so but there were an awful lot of posters on here picking Hatton to smash Senchenko to pieces.....There have been a lot of revisionist comments, posts and opinions on here since the fight.
I don't think Malignaggi will take the fight now that Hatton lost his last fight.. and you can't blame him either..
