Not in the know...but various press releases have typically quoted 15 or 20 countries in total. According to an Adelaide paper: 'The fight being beamed into 15 countries, including the US, Canada, England, Malaysia and South Africa'. Other sources have said 20, but haven't seen anyone actually list them yet.
If it's being piggybacked off the Hopkins fight then we are talking a significant delay in the broadcast. I'm in Bangkok right now and wondering it will get broadcast. Thailand has a pretty good record for picking up PPV and I think even some of the Super Six free to air on Sunday morning...
Its on non-PPV in Canada. TSN2 is showing the VS broadcast. Its on gofightlive.com streaming PPV for other international viewers.
its being showed tape delayed in the US on Versus and definately not live in the UK. think canada are showing it tape delayed too. had a look on the south african sports channel supersport's website and none of their 7/8 channels are showing it live either.
The 20 countries claim is probably just pre-fight hype. Maybe 20 countries are taking feeds, but how much are they paying for it? Have heard various accounts of Danny expecting to earn $3Mil or $4Mil, and Roy isn't coming for the Australian sunshine. The expected 18,000 crowd will probably only pay perhaps $4Mil to $5Mil - wonder where all the other dough is coming from?
The word is that the PPV buys in Oz are through the roof. I suppose that's where the big bucks are coming from.
