So what does everyone think of Pavlik chances of unifying the MW division now?

Υοu're definitely right (if Pavlik works on his flaws he surely has a much greatrer chance of ruling 160), but the "same old Kelly" looked pretty good before the Hopkins fight, didn't he?

Taylor has very good speed. If he didn't telegraph the right with a shoulder roll most of the time.......

Yeah, but he was fighting ham "n" eggers most of the time. Taylor is a very good fighter, but he is also a part-time fighter who can be outworked. AA is a worker who has good technique. It's not gonna be easy beating him no matter the size advantage. AA made easy work of Miranda this time around and was very impressive What has Kelly done.

    Fair points.

I don't understand the last sentence though. What has Abraham done? ;)

I would favour Abraham over Pavlik, but Sturm I'm not so sure about. Other than the robbery against De La Hoya he's not someone I'm familiar with. He has some B standard names on his record but he needs to step it up.

Taylor is part-time? What does that make AA???

And I am extremely underwhelmed by AA's punching technique. THey are almost always wide, looping shots; rarely does he throw a compact or short punch.

AA has his own form of "rope-a-dope" going on. He let EM bang on his guard for a while and that brought a guy with a leaky defense in close. The fight was over after the right hand. Kelly has the range to stay further back. It will be a much different fight.

He's chances is as good as before Hopkins. AA is my favorit against Pavlik, who need to improve his defences a lot.

I would say not a whole lot more than Pavlik, but he is more of a complete fighter than Kelly. Kelly uses his size advantage and punch rate to overwhelm fighters, while AA uses a more skillful approach. It should not be forgotten than Arthur can crack pretty good, too.

I'm not making light of JT's skills, because he has loads of talent, but he hasn't put it all together because he takes a lot of time off. At one part of the fight, he could be controlling it with a sick jack and beautiful combos. The next, he'll let his opponent bully him to the ropes and let him tee off on him. Guys like Corey Spinks and Kassim Ouma shouldn't last the distance with him and give him close fights, but they did because he takes his foot off the gas and lets them back into fights.

As underwhelmed as you are with AA, he is effective, just like Pavlik. No, they aren't Mayweather or De la Hoya, but they do their jobs. AA is smart and uses his size to his advantage.

    I can't argue with this.

Still, imo Pavlik vs Abraham is a pick em fight, with King Arthur maybe the slight favourite, something like 52%-48%.
