I suppose it depends on the individual circumstances. I've never been properly starched, but I have been buzzed once or twice.

I don't remember the actual shots landing. One second, I was standing facing a guy and the next, there was a ringing in my ears and I was about two meters back from my orginal position. Once, I was going in to throw a 1-2, and was just suddenly aware of seeing the floor come at me. Took a moment to register that I had been whacked with a hook on the way in and had shot my head down to duck the follow up cross. I imagine some KOs are an extension of this, except instead the blank is longer and you're on the deck before you can shake the fuzziness!

There's a difference between punches that buzz and punches that hurt though. The punches that have rattled me have never been particularly sore, just sudden and disorientating. Getting dug to the body and hit on certain bits of the head is different, could quite possibly keep you down just out of pain.

no, just honest. Maybe you have never been sucker punched. But it doesnt matter who you are, if connected correctly your going to be in trouble.
These cowards were too scared to fight me mano a mano so had to use sneak tactics, and still couldnt knock me out.
    Scum...subhuman scum!

When you get knocked out you go to sleep... You won't remember what happened when you wake up as your brain removes the short term memory as it was so traumatic.

Watch any fighter that gets knocked or choked out, the first thing they'll do when they come back around is ask "what the **** just happened?".

I've been knocked down pretty hard, but never knocked out.

I definitely agree about the legs not wanting to work any more though.

I've been KO'd in a fight over a taxi of all things. Came round being picked up by the police and the cuffs going on, about 50m from where the fight started. Last thing I remember is slipping a punch, then throwing one and a lad to the side of me jumping in then nothing until I came round 50 m away. Don't know what happened but both my thumbnails were severely bruised.

yep, if you've been knocked unconscious you probably won't remember what caused it. When I was about 6 I came off my bike on to the road, my memory is everything going dark as I reached about a 45 degree angle, but don't remember actually hitting the road, woke up sometime later in the doctors office. Considering distance to doctors, that was probably 15 minutes I was out for. May have woken up earlier, but no memories in between, and I never asked. The person that took me to the doc has since died. Bugs me now that I don't know more.

got sparked in amateur fight by a bigger lad who could punch. i was unfit, drank too much, smoked too much and wasnt prepared as i should have been for an amateur bout.

i had problems from the start of the fight. first solid punch i took the headguard shifted and kept sliding down over my eyes so i had to lift my chin to see properly. end of first round i was completely gassed and hyperventilating. apparently i won the first round but second i took a hiding and had a standing count. couldnt run so had to stand and fight.

3rd round was under bombardment in corner bobbed and weaved under hooks and bobbed up into a right cross that i didnt see with my chin in the air. hit the deck hard apparently. dragged myself up around the count of 10 but was ****ed sop ref waved off.

staggered out of ring and saw doctor and stuff. funny thing is i had no memory of any of round 3 and my memory comes back about 20 mins later in dressing room with a mate looking after me. id ben outside in cold air asking him if i won the fight! lol

i was pissing it up 45 mins after getting sparked. had a headache and saw jaw for 4 days after.

the only other time been hurt was in sparring from a not particularly big puncher caught a right hand i didnt see and wobbled me but i was ok carried on sparring. bt driving home i was sort of fuzzy thinking and dodnt rerwlly know what was going on. i was sort of confused was weird. been hit a lot harder befoie by bigger punchers but had no issues.

Never been KO'd but i wouldnt say it hurts as most of the time you dont know anything. Coz your adrenaline is pumping you shouldnt feel the punch. (i dont anyway) but i have had a few painfull bodyshots which have winded me and i could not get up on 1 occasion, but you gotta expect this kinda stuff if your involved with the sport!

I've been dropped and stunned, but not fully KO'd. Was training in Kenpo and was doing some sparring with light gloves and no headgear. The session got a little too intense. I don't remember the shot and obviously didn't see it coming, but as soon as I hit the mat I popped to life like waking suddenly from an intense dream.

I was able to stand right up, but felt like I had a twelve pack in me for a few seconds. Wanted to hit the guy back, but was sent home for the day.
