He himself is a very brave fighter, I don't believe he'd duck anyone, though his team (Arum + Roach) definitely in a sense do what a fighters team is meant to do and protect their fighter, find the combination of most winnable viable opponent, plus most marketable name. I think Roach is pretty shrewd and while he has faith in Manny I am dubious as to his faith in Manny's ability to beat Floyd. There are other numerous occasions where roach has said (on camera) that he would only take certain fights, if they were able to drain the fighter down a bit to 'take something out of them', or in other instances when a fighter has looked dangerous and full of confidence (Margo) he said he was too much for them, then after the wrap scandal and the brutalisation by Mosely, he said he wanted him (at a catchweight) We all know about Arum so I'm not even going to touch on that. I beleive if you put Pacquiao in the ring with Wlad he'd try to make a fight of it, he personally wouldn't choose to duck a fighter, but his team are very selective with their matchmaking, and personally I think it reflects badly on him, especially when you have situations such as Floyd trying to make him look like a dickhead, and I'm sure Manny wants to fight him, but then excuse after excuse (which we know aren't true - aside from what Floyd did with the 50/50 split, we heard the cut wouldn't heal, the stadium needed to be built etc etc) that make him look bad From a non-pinoy perspective you always get this kind of, slightly racist viewpoint of Pacquiao that he is some simple guy from a village and doesn't speak much English and is just being bossed about by Arum & Co, but I've seen plenty of interviews with him and though it obviously isn't his first language he's intelligent enough to know what's going on and what people are saying I just wonder what HE thinks when Bob Arum is obviously waffling out his lies, does he think that Arum has no faith in him? When he hears Roach originally say he wanted May at a catchweight to take something out of him, does he think Roach isn't confident in him? The topic will inevitably turn to Mayweather but for good or for bad, you can understand whatever Floyd does he does for himself, if he doesn't fight Pac because he's scared, then it's his decision, but with Pacquiao I'm pretty confident he would want the fight, but Bob Arum and to a lesser extent Freddie Roach, really don't Why is this, it seems that people are always talking for him but always say the wrong things....what is going on?
Pacquiao isn't very sharp, but he's atleast smart enough to allow Arum and Roach orchestrate his career...and play innocent..."I don't even know what ess steroid, what ees steroid"? This is a guy who signed with Golden Boy Promotions while signed with Top Rank over a brief case full of dollar bills, probably all ones. He trusts Roach and Arum won't put him up against someone that can beat him.
My perspective is that he's down to fight, and you can see him make certain statements but Arum has his own agenda and you always see Pac change his story AFTER they convene, meaning Arum has to set him straight once in a while. I can give examples but its a lil too much to type and Im lazy atm
you still have much to learn about Pac but here's how Floyd ducked this fight. ......................... http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/boxing/post/_/id/1004/pacquiao-adviser-jabs-back-at-mayweather Koncz took issue with Mayweather laying blame on Pacquiao for not making their eagerly anticipated superfight happen. "I tried to give the fans blood, sweat and tears with Manny Pacquiao, but he didn't want the fight from the beginning," Mayweather told Boxing Scene. "This guy is ducking and dodging." "At no time did Manny duck this fight," said Koncz, who admitted that he and Mayweather had agreed not to litigate this issue in the media. But the adviser felt compelled to answer Mayweather's "ducking" allegations. Koncz said that Pacquiao has negotiated during this round of back-and-forth, which he said has been ongoing for almost three weeks, in a spirit of compromise. "I told Floyd no media, but I had to respond. There has been no give-and-take from Mayweather, no compromise on his side. We initiated the contact with Mayweather." On Jan. 26, it emerged that Mayweather offered Pacquiao a flat fee of $40 million, guaranteed, during a phone call between the two on Jan. 18. Pacquiao turned down that proposal, and asked for a 50-50 split in revenues instead. How can he leave me out of the pay-per-view when I generate more than him in pay-per-view sales? I am still praying that Mayweather gets enlightened because I believe that I am not being unreasonable, said Pacquiao to ABS-CBN News on Jan. 26. Last week, Manny budged from that 50-50 request, Koncz told me. He said he'd do a 45-55 split of revenues, with the winner to get the 55 percent. "Mayweather rejected that," Koncz said. "That's what transpired. Floyd has made one offer, and stuck to that offer." Both fighters would receive a guaranteed purse -- Koncz said Arum promised Pacquiao $50 million, and guaranteed Floyd $50-60 million -- and that 45-55 split would come from funds collected from the pay-per-view sales. Koncz said he estimates that the pay-per-view would generate between $150-$200 million in revenue. "If Mayweather is the best, as he says, then he would be getting between $10 and $20 million more than Manny," the adviser said. "Does that seem like we're ducking the fight? I don't think so." Mayweather backers have long theorized that Pacquiao is the one keeping the fight from being made; they've offered as evidence his apparent unwillingness to accept drug-testing terms dictated by Mayweather. It appears that argument is null and void, because Koncz said that Pacquiao has agreed to meet Mayweathers' testing demands. "Manny agreed to testing, any time, any day, except for the day of the fight," Koncz said. Koncz said Pacquiao also expressed willingness, in the spirit of compromise, to budge on the date of the fight. The fighter and Arum had basically settled on a June date, but Pacquiao would have agreed to Mayweather's preferred date, May 5. "There's been no give-and-take from Mayweather," Koncz continued. "So who's ducking the fight?" The adviser emphasized that no doors have been slammed shut on their end. "I have no anger or animosity toward Mayweather," he said. "I hope the best for him in his fight with Cotto. I am a little upset that he said we're ducking. But there's been no give and take from Mayweather. So who's ducking the fight?"
Floyd is the "oscar" of this era-he dont have to give n take- Difference in these fighters from a BUSINESS VIEW- FLOYD CAN MAKE 40-50 MILLION FIGHTING PRETTY MUCH ANYONE. FLOYD CAN ONLY MAKE 60-70 MILLION FIGHTING PACQUIAO. PACQUIAO CAN MAKE 20-25 MILLION FIGHTING PRETTY MUCH ANYONE PACQUIAO CAN ONLY MAKE 40-50 MILLION FIGHTING FLOYD. Floyd at the 1 spot, from a business view and he will make the offers just as Oscar used to....If Pac don't like it then thats on him-as a fan I realize there is enough on the table for a 50/50 however.
Doduo you **** why are you talking about Floyd? I had hoped for some sort of insight from some of Pacquiaos actual fans about Pacquiao and instead you come in here and talk about Mayweather ffs gtfo.
How many times have I said this- Arum wouldnt allow 40M because he wouldn't see any of it UNLESS Arum was getting paid separately on top of 40M, and at a higher amount than his cut of the 50/50 which I dont see happening :rofl:rofl
didnt read. do u *******s ever stop copying and pasting? why do u *******s completely ignore the topic of the thread? smh
*******s don't really respond with "logical" answers-they just troll-the dodo guy is one of the worse Vidic! He never has any real answers:rofl
DoDo doesn't seem to get that Floyd is the "A" side in the negotiations, thus he'll make the demands-' the fact that Floyd hasn't "given" any is not even imortant-he doesn't have to...Pac will have to give in to just about everything Floyd wants if he wants the fight- Some fans may not like that he'll have to give in...but reality is, he will have to and he will just like he gave in with the drug tests- Eventually, we'll see an article that says, "Pac says he is willing to take less and keep his promise this time." Wait n see-Fight will never be a 50/50 (wether it SHOULD or not is a different argument all together).. Pac will give in eventually-Then we'll have the fight. Pac can't make that kind of money anywhere else and Floyd can make more than Pac fighting other fighters anyways- Pacroid ran away..period.
50/50 ALL THE WAY... 45/55 with 55% to the winner is even better. If Koncz is speaking the truth and Mayweather was unwilling to budge on his offer then most of the blame is on him IMO... Still I doubt Arum ever really wanted this fight, but it seems to me Manny took control of the situation and ultimately Bobfather would have begrudgingly went along with whatever Pac wanted.
after pac agreed to osdt, do you remember what most people think floyd would use next to avoid the fight???:think changing the money split...:yep blueprint from how he killed the winky fight. :deal
Interesting topic, but there wont be an intelligent Pac thread here on ESB due to his fans and the *****s.
