Where does Conor go from here? Diaz trilogy in Ireland and retire? Boxing is out of the question. What about Khabib? Surely he must fight ferguson now. Pettis? What about him?
Ferguson wants Conor not Khabib. He expressed that post fight interview. I think the entire division hopes Khabib is suspended and they can all chase Conor around for a title shot and get on their knees for the...money shot.
Khabib will be banned then stripped, Conor needs to rebuild before a title shot, I want to see Ferguson fighting a top contender for the title
if khabib is stripped it be tony vs McGregor.. thee whole point of dana wanting khabib stripped is to get the title back to connor.. which Is sad.
The lightweight division always seems to have the deepest talent pool and currently the top end of the division is starting to take shape nicely with Khabib v Fergurson a must for the next title fight after they were both outstanding last night. I just hope we don't have to wait long because of any suspensions etc. from the bull**** afterwards but if for any reason that fight cant happen I think the Diaz v Poirier winner could be a decent opponent for either, Poirier especially against Fergurson has fight of the year written all over it.
Khabib should defend against Tony. I think Poirier beats Diaz so he would then be next in line. They will probably do Conor-Diaz 3 but I would rather Conor fight one of the top guys at 155 (maybe Kevin Lee) to prove himself at the weight. No Diaz is not a top lightweight.
Khabib vs Ferguson should be the next title fight. Conor should face Gaethje, Pettis or Iaquinta. All 3 are in the UFC's top 10, and would be relevant wins. If I were Conor's people, I'd prefer Gaethje as the option to look best against. If successful, maybe a rematch against the Diaz vs Poirier winner.
The casuals are just gullible fools who will swallow anything and everything Conor and Dana tell them. Turns out there really is one born every minute.
Ferguson has a better chance at beating Khabib than he does McGregor as crazy as that may sound. With his lack of defense and tendency to throw to it's almost a certainty than he gets sparked early. Pettis is not known for his boxing and he was countering Ferguson throughout the fight and dropped him hard. In truth if Pettis wasn't war torn with a ton of scar tissue he would have won this fight.
