the plan everyone had in mind was for the winner to fight floyd, now what does the winner do?

i dont really care about a de la hoya fight so i say the winner should just unify.

Well if Cotto wins and Judah/Quintana win their next fights he should defientally forget about the 2 guys he trashed and look at DLH or Mosley of course. He really doesnt need to unify now because im pretty sure Cotto and Margo are Rings top 2 rated guys so the winner would be linear Champ. All the little ABC belts do is take extra money from your checks and pesture you to defend in a mandatory agianst some dude from another country you have never even heard off.

It just means that the winner is the best welterweight in the world right now. They could probably grant a match to the Mosley-Judah winner, or a huge payday against DLH.

So what now you ask? They (Margo & Cotto) keep doing what they have been doing, and that is fight the best and duck no one.

I believe the winner will probably be looking at fighting De La Hoya. Lets face it Mayweather didnt want anything to do with either Margarito or Cotto. So him retireing doesnt change much anyways.

Also lets not forget Margarito bitched on Floyd waaaaay worse than Hatton ever did but yet Floyd refused to fight Margo but couldnt wait to fight Hatton for disrespecting him:nut

Floyd saw an easier/winnable fight in Hatton, and plus Floyd was still commenting on Cotto having to fight better fighters and prove himself before a match can be made.

Well Floyd has been on record saying that DLH was the best fighter he has faced, and Cotto has beaten Mosley who beat Floyd's biggest win twice.

Cotto/Margo have Jr. Middleweight to fight at still...
I can see them moving up eventualy, tho I honestly see Margo leaving for it first. & Cotto unifying WW.

Depend's on the outcome of their fight.

Probably fight the winners of Clottey - Judah or Quintana - Williams. Maybe a fight w/ Mosley. DLH won't go near any of them. Neither will Mayweather when he returns.

I don't see much point in Cotto fighting Quintana again, but if Williams were to reverse the decision from their first fight he would be a good opponent (styles make fights and all). If Margarito were to defeat Cotto then he could rematch Williams, or fight Quintana, Mosley or Judah.

Money magnet DLH might get involved in there somewhere though.

oscar shane paul williams or quintana

    it depends who wins...

if cotto wins he could chose from all 4
if marg wins he couldnt get oscar but could probably get the other 3

If Cotto wins then he should definately fight Clottey and Williams. Both of whom I am expecting to win their respective title shots.

If Margarito wins then he can always rematch Williams to avenge that loss. And then maybe fight Clottey should Clottey win the IBF title.

Of course if Judah and Quintana win, those become prospective matchups in the event of a Margarito win.

Nevertheless there is still plenty of life in the welterweight division.
