So what round would Lennox Lewis lay out Liston?

Highly motivated? Is that why Ray Mercer showed up very fat and overweight?

Jeez....you talk of Briggs as if he were a good fighter. Briggs was a Dangerous B level fighter. That is as far as I will go.

"Tough" is the last word I would ever use to describe Vitali. Vitali is not tough.

    :lol::lol:

You know, reading this, Lewis' record against contenders must be something like 0-6. He sounds that awful. Cleveland Williams as you say it, hits as hard as Lewis, was faster, had better boxing skills and was better coordinated. Imagine what an all-time record he must have accomplished with those attributes!

........ and then there's the wake up call that Williams' record against rated opponents reads something like 1-4-1 (a win over Terrel, losses to Terrel, Liston and Satterfield and a draw with Machen). Plus losses to mediocre opponents. Then there's the reality that Lewis is 21-2 against ranked contenders (wins over Mason, Ruddock, Tucker, Bruno, Jackson, Butler, Morrison, Mercer, Golota, McCall, Akinwande, Mavrovic, Holyfield I, Holyfield II, Briggs, Grant, Tua, Rahman, Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, with two avenged losses to McCall and Rahman).

Hold on a second. On one hand, you have "an uncoordinated panzy-ass like Lewis", who manages to compile a 21-2 record against rated opposition. Then there's someone who "who hit as hard as Lewis, was faster, and had better boxing skills and coordination", and with those extra attributes, he compiles a .... 1-4-1 record?

That is what we call being delusional. Wikipedia's definition describes this situation spot-on: "A delusion, in everyday language, is a fixed belief that is either false, fanciful, or derived from deception[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception"][/ame]".

To extend that one, on the laughable remarks of Bowe not ducking Lewis.. At one point, HBO's Seth Abraham put down a purse of $32m for Bowe-Lewis. Newman's first offer to Lewis' camp was for Bowe to get $30m of it! And then the second offer....$29m instead! Seem the remember the third offer was for Lewis to fight on a Bowe undercard for $5m, then possibly get a title shot down the line because of it...not sure.

Lewis made 8m to fight Tucker, Bowe made less fighting two unworthy
    opponents after beating Holyfield.

Bowe had signed a contract that specifically said he could only get his title shot against Holyfield on the condition that he face the winner of Lewis-Ruddock. Go ahead. Look it up. Why do you think they stripped him from his title?

Is it as delusional as claiming that Duran was pre-prime vs. Buchanan though?

Your descriptions of Lewis's opponents may have some truth to them, but are also over simplified... What evidence do you have that Ruddock was "shot" after facing Tyson.. From my own memory, he still appeared to spectacular and was actually favored to be the next champ in Tyson's abscence. Gary Mason had a padded record no doubt, but Lewis faced him with only 14 professional fights. Who did Cleveland Williams beat in his 15th bout? Holyfield was past his prime, but holding the lineal the title... Did Williams ever beat anyone that was even remotely on the same level as even a 36 year old Holyfield?

Sorry, but anyone who makes the claim that Cleveland Williams is anywhere near Lewis's league is either trolling or needs a serious reality check.

Not sure if any HW is more overrated in H2H matches than Sonny Liston.

This is the worst post I've read in years. In fact it's so inaccurate it's barely worth addressing.

Are you sure you what boxing?

For starters Lewis did win the second fight. I've read probably 20 threads over the years on this fight and I've never seen a round by round break down that results in a legit Holyfield win. Care to be the first to put forth a case, be my guest.

As for the Tyson fight, Lewis did fight him in the first round, in fact he hurt him, it was Tyson who went back into his corner claiming he was hurt not Lewis. (again did you actually watch this fight)

Bowe blaintly ducked Lewis because he was legally obligated to fight him, how much more of a duck can there possibly be then reneging on a legal agreement? And who else did Bowe fight that was either a better fighter or offered a better payday? In fact this ducking of Lewis has hurt Bowe's legacy ever since..there's really nothing worse he could have done to his career cause 20-25 years later that's pretty much how he's defined. A win would have put him in the Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis category as to who wa the best and a win over a prime Holyfield and Lewis would have cemented his legacy forever, now some people refer to him a "chicken Bowe" pretty big swing.

As to the olympic fight it was a totally legit stoppage by olympic standards. I saw the fight, and if was a professional fight I'd agree that it would be called an early stoppage, but the olympic boxing rules are different. But certainly the two fighters would have known who was getting the better of who.

Which is typical of the random and unfounded predictions you make when there isn't any actual evidence to support your point.

Inferring that someone like Williams is better than Lewis is a joke.

O rly? Because Holyfield looked so spectacular around 1999 right? O wait he couldn't even win a trilogy with John Ruiz! LOL. Patterson was too fast for Holyfield in 1999. Pattersons combinations, handspeed, reflexes are nightmares for an older fighter(see Archie Moore). Holyfield lacks the devastating punch to put Floyd away.

The most overrated heavyweight on this forum is by far Vitali Klitschko. I have never seen a guy with such a shitty resume picked over so many ATG heavyweights.
