the difference is that now that Floyd is fighting him, he is being overhyped like crazy by *****s.

All this about him all of a sudden being better than ever makes no sense whatsoever.

Before you dump too much on them you might want to consider the rumor that he was witnessed walking on water yesterday!!!

This version of Cotto is better than the one that fought Margo. Mentally he appears to be ready! He learned from his losses and appears to have the pieces in his personal life back together. Mentally appears to be ready!

All the distractions and drama with his Uncle are gone.
He isn't training himself any longer.
He is more motivated for this fight than for his first title fight he
    said the other day.

I see a surprise coming on the 5th of May!!!

When has Cotto ever lost a fair fight? He's only lost when people have loaded up their gloves or forced him to come down to fight in some made up dvision. Miguel Cotto is undefeated in straight up fights. Cotto has a 100% KO percentage at 154. Mayweather lost in his only other appearence at 154*.

Props to Cotto for taking the Mayweather challenge. Other fighters didn't want the challenge because they needed 6 months for a cut to heal, or because they wanted to fight when at a time when he would be in jail. Props to Mayweather for going up to 154 in order to challenge The Great Miguel Cotto for his 154 lb. belt. Other fighters wanted to drain Cotto down to 147 in order to fight him. It should be a great night of boxing. Cotto has looked great, and is better than ever. My head says Cotto, but my heart says Mayweather. I'm going against my better judgement and am picking Mayweather.

*By lost, I mean he lost according to the bogus scorecard of blind judge Tom Kaczmarek(everyone knows Money clearly won about 8 or 9 rounds in that fight)

if catchweights losses don't count, the history of boxing would change drastically

it always makes me laugh when general forum posters assume floyd and manny made up catchweights

I shouldn't laugh though because as a newbie I too held catchweight fights against pacman, I now know better though :good

I dont agree that Shane quit, he kept trying but he just couldn't find a way through. People all too often like to down play Floyd and give him now credit.....you don't quit after you almost knocked a man down who has never been down (officially)

Nothing Shane could do, he was too tight, too nervous, to predictable....on that night Floyd was just too good.

In short is physical capabilities , and not much else , infact technically he seems better now than he was then , he just had more in the tank 2006 ish , in his last 2 outings he shown he has significant power at the weight , speed , reflexes , stamina , it all seems there , like i said he just seems a little slower , but not much

Still P4P top 10 for me

Back in the day, top fighters would all fight each other, and lose, without fear of getting labelled shot.

I don't watch ufc, but guys there fight each other and lose without getting shot.

it's only in modern boxing where a guy can lose 2 fights and get called shot.

put it this way, the way cotto fought against clottey should be proof enough he aint shot. that was the number 3 & 4 ww's in the world going at it.

the way cotto easily handled guys like foreman, mayorga and amrgo should be proof enough he isn't finished (although those 3 seemingly were).

compare cotto now to how he was at lww and i don't see how anyone can call him shot. he picks his shots better, punches with more authority, paces himself better and is more durable.

the ONLY reason people called him shot is because they had an agenda to downplay pac's amazing victory against him. the only reason people call him shot now is beacsue they have an agenda and want to downplay the significance of hsi fight with floyd.

it's just you dumb fanboys arguing with each other, point scoring.
