At least half a dozen past Klitschko fan quote of the week threads in there, nice one :good The part in bold is :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl though. VITLAY lost in 6 rounds because he was only preparing for a 10 round fight
Tyson won the event against Danny Williams too. I seem to recall Alan Minter winning the event against Hagler, come to think of it.
Shame he couldn't have shown that kind of desire to get to Lewis while they were still fighting, otherwise he wouldn't be forever remembered as a loser :rofl VITLAYS stuttering was hilarious though :good
It's the reaction of the people after the fight is what I mean by winning the event and winning the event has nothing to do with the fight nor record books so don't take it that way if you are. Vitali did better than people expected him to and was winning the fight when they stopped it, also last I remember Tyson was dropped and knocked out, Vitali wasn't which is why Vitali's case became more popular and many people(myself included) demanded a rematch, the situations are totally different so no, Tyson didn't really win the event.
This thread is comedy gold. Mendoza has rolled out so many excuses he must have been thinking of them since the bout. "Vitali lost the fight but won the event". :rofl "Vitali lost the election but won the event". :rofl "Vitali lost the training camp but won the event". :rofl A new sport classic line - no matter how crap your sporting hero does always claim he "won the event". :rofl
It was the PermianTriassic extinction event for all threads unrelated to Klitschko-Lewis. Not just here but on ESPN as well. Where I used to post.
lewis looked like he would struggle against butterbean jnr in this bout as he became old over night! glad he retired! :good
Good point. I also think it's worth noting that Lewis was knocked out at the end of the 7th round, which is what sitting down on your stool means.
probably because the cut over his eye ended the fight. sucks to go out like that but lewis did cause it by a punch and deserved the KO. Im not trying to take anything away from lewis, he was one of the best heavyweight champs. and yes I know he was faded, i mean its not like the guy was at his best. All i was saying was that I felt vitali would have KO'ed him had the fight continued if the cut didnt happen. Lewis was getting tagged, and lets not remember what happened when rahman started to tag him. Jesus man you go off on this tangent like I am a lewis hater or something, get a grip.
No, you misunderstood. I wasn't calling you a hater. It was a serious question - if he could have KO'd Lennox, why didn't he BEFORE the fight was stopped because of the cut? He would have known from around the 3rd round on that the cut might cause the fight to be ended, so surely he was doing the best he possibly could to stop Lewis... but he still failed. His best wasn't good enough. So if he couldn't KO Lennox when he was fresh before the cut, and he couldn't KO Lennox after he was cut and was desperately giving everything he had, what makes you think he could KO Lennox when he was tired and unable to see properly, especially considering Lennox swept the last round on all cards and was clearly doing better than early on? (Vitali only really dominated the 2nd round, after that it was fairly even until Lennox took over at the end).
