He’s 37, now time for tune ups.

15 pro fights while nearing 40, can we say career mismanagement by this point?

First they are going to have to x-ray, cat scan, and mri that melon and make sure it is in one piece.

Learn how to box a southpaw? That would be a decent start. He's got a world class trainer there.

Good one. Gotta love Joyce and his Bowe defense. But just like Bowe, putting him in with a guy the same size magnifies shortcomings about 300%. Better stick to always having the size advantage.

Joyce has some of the worst boxing radar---its like he is 95% offense and 5% defense. But he sure gets hit clean.

What makes him think he could win a rematch?

imo this was a dumb match up because he had Fury saying Joe was his "hardest match up"... Usyk was considering matching up with him..

So that said the only option is a do or die rematch vs Zhang, if he wins he returns to being in the mix, if he loses retire.

Rematch with Zhang I would think. He's already 37 and it would be tough to give up his mandatory position and start over again

Well, he's invincible, can't be hurt or KO'd, getting better with middle-age, a force of nature, beat Parker.
    What could go wrong?
He can just go back to dominating the heavyweight division in theory while somehow managing to avoid every single top prime fighter for the last decade.
British and other fans will now make Zhang out to be some amazing fighter. Even if he was, and somehow never managed to dominate the HW division in his prime, he's now 40 years old.
At least the other hype-job Joshua beats the 40 year olds he faces.

I suspect Joyce's management has been watching Joyce get beat by top fighters in sparring for years and that's why his 'brand' has been protected so long.

Joyce has been found out a bit and is too old really for a worthwhile comeback... Also started too late.....

Another product of British hype... Which is not really the fighters fault....

Maybe one or two more fights but dont see him going for title

How can he be too old, he was the younger fighter lol.

Nothing really happened in this fight that wasn't expected. It's not like we expected Joyce to out slick Zhang we all knew it would come down to if he could handle the power of Zhang and in fairness to Joyce he never looked like going down even when he took that monster left than knocked him off balance. But he took too many shots and his eye swelled up, nobody expected that, he's never had a history of marking up much. He took a big risk in facing Zhang and it back fired, all it takes in one good win to get him back into contention.

Point is a younger Joyce would have done better... With current experience.... Irrespective of his opponents age....

Not just British hype, Joyce was being ranked very highly by The Ring and even higher by TBRB.

Though I agree that the thinking Zhang would be a walk in the park was fueled by hype beyond reason. This was always going to be a dangerous fight. And just like Whyte fighting Povetkin, evidentially a miscalculation.
