I won't kick a fighter when he's down. Miranda is a fun fighter to watch. I think the truth is that Miranda is still capable of beating some pretty good super middleweights. What happened tonight is that it just became abundantly clear that he'll never be among the elite.
Froch? You trying to kill him? Putting such an open guy with a shakey chin with all these big punchers isn't good.
In my opinion, Mundine wouldn't go near him. Lacy's camp might make an offer if he's confident enough. But Hennessy will probably offer Miranda a big paycheck to go to Nottingham. Good scrap for Carl aswel.
Well - All in all I think this fight hurt Miranda in more ways than the KO. I bow to both for wanting this fight, even if it wasn't classed as a title fight. Right now it just doesn't seem plausible to fight top SMWs, when you get KO'd by a MW 4 pounds above normal weight. So what does Miranda do now? He was on his way to climb the ladders of SMW, and he could still try to venture into such unknown depths - but right now it seems ill advised to go anywhere near top 5(think he is still listed as no. 6), unless he tries to alter his game. He needs more defensive training, learn to fight smart, and not rely too heavily on his power. It might work in the MWs, but at SMW is will not be enough anymore.
Miranda was so overhyped to begin with that I'm not surprised this happened... I had picked Abraham to win... no so dominantly though. Anyways Miranda should venture into the SMW division and try to work his way up and see how far he can go. He will never be elite in any division though because of his lack of defense.
:deal The Slithering One is waiting in the grass. Ready to pounce. Soon. Probably. In the next few years at least.
Back to beating tomato cans on ESPN then getting his ass whooped on showtime......seems to be a pattern..... AHAHAHA
