So what's standing in the way of Mayweather-Williams?

Williams says he can still make welterweight. He's also stated that he's wanted to fight Floyd. I'm sure Williams would take it.

Then he should do it the right way. Actually make welterweight and establish himself there. Until then he has no right to call out any welters and should be seeking fights at middle.

You don't call out someone 2 weight classes below you and ***** when the fight doesn't get made.

It's not wise for Floyd to fight Williams right now when a fight with pac is still potentially on the table. After Floyd beats pac his star power goes up, and then he can carry big numbers fighting someone who's not known to the general public. Imagine how much people would eat it up after Floyd is viewed as the best, and he's going after a 6 ft 1 monster.

PW hasn't made a big enough name yet. It's totally unbelievable hat PW at 6ft 3inches can make WW.

He says he can still make 147, but I honestly doubt he could make it comfortably. Like you said, there is no reward in this bout...if Mayweather accepts a bout with Williams at 147, Mayweather gains nothing. If anything he will be criticised for not meeting in the middle at 154lbs...they will say Williams was drained if he were to beat him (which I think he would).
Lets see if Mayweather Pacquiao can get it on first...if not, and if Williams looks impressive next time out, and if Mayweather fancies moving back upto 154lbs, then discussing this bout would hold more relevance.

    Williams has power.
    Williams has a chin.
Williams has stamina as good as and probably better than Floyd.

    It wouldn't be that simple.

He's been calling them out since he beat Margarito, yet since he beat him, Margarito was able to land fights with two of the main guys he has been calling out - Shane and Cotto. You just can't twist that.

One of the biggest fights (and paydays) in boxing in the past 25 years.

Floyd will light PW up like a Christmas tree and then take him out like the garbage he is. PW couldn't handle counter-punching from Martinez, how do you think he would handle Floyd? PW's only advantages are his height/length, and his chin. It'd take Floyd 2-4 rounds to figure out the range, and then he would proceed to destroy PW.

Personally I would like to see it just to make the fans shut the hell up, but this thing is B.A.D. worthy. PW is not a PPV attraction.
