IF your fighting theres nothing on your mind but you and your rival, Cotto didnt grab cus thats not in him, his instinct is of a fighter.
Mayweather's movement is a strategy, he moves, counters, jumps in with certain punches...etc, he doesn't do it for the sake of DOING IT like Cotto was. Cotto was just backing off like that throwing nothing and whenever he wanted to throw he had to stand still and throw, that's "buying time" movement. There's a difference between that and a guy who moves and THROWS while keeping the movement up and doesn't give his opponent a chance to set his self up to counter.
And he ended up on the canvas for it, nothing he gained there which is why he's openly admitting he needs a new team to develop some defense otherwise his career won't go far and being labeled "eye of the tiger", "instinct of a mammoth" won't pay the bills later as his career progresses.
He ended up on the canvas but no one can call him a coward, he gained respect and I think that why he was seen more on the defenssive yesturday, part of a new strategy.
He did the same **** De La Hoya did against Trinidad and most people called out Oscar for coasting in the last few rounds. Cotto ran for like 5 or 6 rounds. Not very impressed by Cotto and I never was.
No one can call other fighters cowards either, cowards won't step in the ring anyway and fighting style differs from one to another. I don't think people would call Ali, Robinson or Leonard cowards for their masterful defensive abilities. About his defensive improvements, I would hope to see better, so far it's nothing but the same. Kneeling with his head down welcoming uppercuts is becoming far too obvious now he needs to drop it already, it has been there from the start and guys like Torres were close to finishing him as they easily exploited it.
Like I said before Cotto was retreating but never stopped throwing punches, DLH just ran didnt counter didnt do anything. but you know what I cant wait to see the fighter in you avatar back in action!
