I wanna hear the real story on this. Dude took Ike's whole style & even did it at a higher level. Prolly the best career decision he made. What's the real answer I don't want speculation. Did he admire Quartey? Was he trying to become more fan friendly? Whats up. He started in the Vargas fight & ran with it

I'm serious, Winky took Quartey's whole style. There's more to boxing than discussing Pac/Mayweather

Well it's not exactly some unique style that no one else uses.

I guess Ike Quartey invented these boxers' styles then (Winky, Abraham, Omar Narvaez, Joshua Clottey, etc.)............................:-(

class is in session, its know the winky and ike were good buddies. they use to spar all the time and they even lived together for a while.i think winky was coming up in the ranks and ike was champ already i cant remember how it went. but if you asked winky which fighter would be closest to his style of boxing he would tell the ike was. ok i remeber now, you have to find the coutdown of ike vs winky and winky talks highly about him and ike talked highly about winky.do you some reserch on it, i cant remember it all.

this is all i could find, jim talks on there relationship at the 7:20 mark of this video

Winky has said that he got his style from Quartey from watching him and sparring ect. He just made it his own to what best fit his abilities.
