Listen, I understand you love Floyd, but you want to know what the difference between Mayweather and Morales is? Morales didn't wait until the end of his career to fight a decent opponent (who has been on the physical decline). In fact the guy Floyd finally agreed to face now Morales fought when he was in his prime and beat him!

How has Mayweather stayed on the p4p top 10 lists since 1998 if he has yet to fight a decent opponent? How has he defeated over 20 world champions without stepping in there with a decent opponent?

Just because a fighter manages to capture a belt doesn't mean he is "the guy"- Case in point Baldomir. Compare the quality of Floyd's resume to someone like Pacquiao's and it's obvious who took the "harder road". While Pacquaio fought the best comp available all these years you know what the talk with Floyd was? When would he finally fight Pacquiao, rather than some no hoper like Guerrero or Ortiz. That's all I'm saying.

Now if you think I am being too harsh on Floyd- is it his fault he had to face guys like Ortiz and Guerrero since they were seen as legit? No of course not. He did what he do to do...the problem is Floyd is well known for having avoided certain fighters in the past or not making those fights happen until much later when those fighters had slowed down some, for example Cotto & Pacquiao.

Would Floyd have made it out of the third round if Maidana was allowed to wear his gloves of choice?

Pacquiao has fought a similar level of opposition as Mayweather. It's been pretty much identical over the last 10 years. I don't know how you can say guys like Hernandez, Corrales, Castillo, Judah, Hoya, Cotto, Mosley, and Alvarez aren't even decent.

Just curious, was an undefeated top 10 P4P fighter Ricky Hatton a washed up scrub?

How about after MOsley demolished Margarito. MANY people thought FLoyd would avoid Shane like the plague.

How about Canelo ALvarez? Last time I checked, he was a universally regarded top 10 P4P fighter when he took on Floyd, was undefeated, and was thought to be a guy with a REALLY good shot to usurp Mayweather.

I've always given him credit for the Canelo win. That was his last good, "in prime" opponent for some time.

Guys like Mosley/Delahoya/Hatton they share as common opponents and Pacquiao pretty much beat them with greater ease. As far as Hatton, no he isn't a scrub and I'll give Floyd credit for getting to him first and probably taking his confidence- he stood no chance against Pac when they met that's for sure.

When guys like Cotto and Margarito were wrecking havoc before 2010, did Floyd willingly step in to face them? No, who did? Pacquaio that's who. Mayweather couldn't even be in the same room as Margarito without getting the stutters and he wanted no part of that version of Cotto back then. That fight was wanted almost as badly as a Pacquaio fight at one time. True, they did end up fighting years later, but by then Cotto had been beaten to a pulp by Margarito and leveled by Pacquiao. He was not the same guy when Floyd had fought him.

Yes the Mayweather that fought guys like Hernandez and Castillo was something to behold indeed. Floyd post 2005 - not so much.

I agree to a certain extent. I wish he never took those semi-retirements/sabbaticals from boxing after the Hatton fight. He basically took off a little over 3 years during that period, fighting intermittently in between (even had a 21 month layoff before coming back in 09 to fight Marquez.)

So who didn't he fight since 2005 that campaigned at 147-54? Margarito and Williams at 147, Sergio Martinez at 54. Those are the only 3 names I can think of. The only fight out of those 3 that I think would've been really tough would've been Sergio.

As far as Cotto, I always thought he was at his best at 140, and I believe Arum stated back in 05 after the Floyd-Gatti fight that Cotto wasn't ready yet for Mayweather. Anyway, I don't see any version of Miguel beating FLoyd. Had Mayweather met him a bit earlier, Cotto would've been taking on a version of FLoyd that was even more in his prime.

So Martinez, Williams and Margarito are the 3 guys that make FLoyd look like a coward for some reason? 2 of them aren't even HOF bound fighters (and Margs is a proven cheat.) I just feel like the guy could take on everyone and people will still be clamoring about him ducking someone.

Guarantee you if he beats Pacman handily in this matchup, to the point where a rematch isn't warranted, all the emphasis will than be turned to Keith Thurman, Erislandy Lara or Gennady Golovkin as the next set of boogeymen that Floyd is running from.

What you fail to realize is that although Pac was younger when he fought Morales, he didn't possess the skills he now have. I will wager that the Pac now would have knocked Morales out in that first fight.
