So, where do we stand with PPV in 2016?

Pro sport's business and business is dirty and unfair just like life itself. We should have no moral expectations of the sport. As a fan you have to accept that you're buying into a showbiz illusion.

    But that's a different argument

You can't make wider sports audience prefer 50/50 world title fights to Heavyweight knockouts

Look at the growth of UFC - its all about excitement and action

Everyone raving about a 13 second knockout from PPV on there same night as Joshua fight

Not heard anyone complaining about that and next time the Irish guy fights there will be an even bigger audience

As things stand as long as PPV happens on sky it's the fights that draw the biggest amount of viewers that will be PPV

You'll always get folk whining about ppv, peds etc, but they're naive and think it should be about being fair to the fans, level playing fields etc.

All it's about is money. The Hearns know about making money from sport and the fans love it.

Anyone who paid to either watch the fight live or PPV can't have been disappointed with what they saw at least

The ones who didn't want to pay to do either can't make people who do want to pay act any differently

Just need to live with it and accept it's not going to change

When I asked on here Saturday night if it was on radio first reply I got "not a chance"

When in fact five live interrupted their phone in show to go to the fight live

When is the last time that a domestic fight with no big titles at stake was broadcast live on five live?

This shows the appeal of Joshua to wider British public

I personally would never pay to watch the television (never ever bought a tv licence) but I don't represent the masses who line up to hand over their cash to Eddie. They're a different generation, a different mindset, and good luck to anyone rinsing 'em.

    This thread is going off-topic.

My question is: What's the least in terms of names/titles etc that becomes a PPV?

What's the lowest on the PPV criteria?

Is Quigg PPV with an interim belt?

Is Crolla with a world belt PPV material against Mitchell coming off a loss?

    Is Campbell PPV material?

    Is AJ/Chisora PPV material?

Only one that should get enough interest to be PPV IMO of them would be Joshua and my answer would be same regardless of opponent

People are paying to see Joshua knock someone else out - doenst matter who it is

Fact some may have actually heard of Chisora would probably make them think he is a tougher opponent than Whyte

It really doesn't matter who is on the undercard either it's Joshua who the PPV audience will be paying to see

Most of the PPV audience only watch the main event anyway and just want to know what time main event starts

Any points wins before that which are 50/50 will just frustrate them

That's my honest opinion of how PPV is in reality

Being honest Chris Eubank Junior will probably be a bigger draw and more interesting to watch than the other names on your list

PPV Public will be more interested in him and his dad than Crolla or Quigg

Not suggesting he could get PPV

But him on undercard of Joshua bill plus someone like Charlie Edwards and even dillian Whyte again or Chisore etc would be more than enough to get the PPV numbers in and far more successful than the other names you mention with viewing figures
