Plenty of good fights at 140, with Matthysse being at the top of my list. Guerrero would be a good one, too. And if those aren't possible, a nice warm-up fight to work on his weaknesses wouldn't be a bad idea. Based on what we've seen of him in the last fight, he's vulnerable for another loss unless he's given one extra camp to at least improve his game. Any little will help.

Trouble is I think that Khan thinks of himself in the 'superfight' category, so has recently been thinking of himself as above most of the fights mentioned in this thread, although I agree that many of them would be good fights that make sense. I think Ortiz is the most likely to be picked by Khan, as he is the best name for how Khan wants to position himself. I think that he would see Brook as a massive backward step, won't want anything to do with Maidana II - certaintly not without belts on the line - and the others just have the wrong profile for him. With a couple of defeats on his record, no belts, a burgeoning reputation for not being a stand up guy, an historic reputation for not wanting to pay his opponents well, but still a dangerous, unpredictable style, he is not an attractive opponent for many fighters, and many of those that would want a fight (like Maidana, Brook) I can't see Khan wanting to fight at this point. There are some great fights being made without him around his weight class. They're running out of space in the P4P list for him, surely, which he won't like. His stock has fallen a fair bit, recently. Should have played nice and humble and pressed for a quick Peterson rematch, imho.

All of those are good fights but none have big name value to casuals away from the hardcore boxing fans. They'd be a tough sell tv wise?

If the Marquez/Peterson fight is signed, sealed and delivered, I'm very happy with the outcomes. I'm glad he's left out in the cold, if he was a bit more intelligent he might realise he shouldn't be so big headed and spoilt, but he's never going to realise that. Doesn't really matter what you do to Amir Khan, can't really humble him.

Agreed. He needs to realise a few home truths if he wants to get better and claw back some support. At the minute i imagine his reputation is at an all time low.

this is why i say he should come home and fight the fights i mentioned.

theres good uk money in them, he can have a "homecoming" and build some support back.

Ortiz wont happen, theres no belts on the line, it'd probably be a small casino in america, its not worth it.

Senschenko. Bolton. WBA World Welterweight Title. 30,000 attendance.

My choice for him would be Brook at 147 at MEN, easily sells out with the Sky hype machine going into overdrive. Also a very winnable fight for Khan too (not sold on Brook yet).

Khan needs to face facts, even with his fallen stock after the Peterson defeat, he's still a bigger draw here in the UK than US.

I get that impression that Senchenko has absolutely zero interest in leaving Ukraine(?) at all. Hes been around the top of the 147 division for around 4 or 5 years now it seems and has yet to leave eastern europe. it seems like he earns good money and it would take an absolutely astronomical figure for Khan to lure him over (and we all know that the Khans aren't the most financially generous.)

Remember that Senchenko's promoter recently bid $1,000,000 in a purse bid to get Malignaggi to come over to fight. They ain't coming to Bolton.

Alexander / Maidana winner is the obvious next fight for khan.

If he wants to stay in the mix he needs a massive win stateside, so fighting the winner of the above makes most sense.
