He has the tools, lost his way for a while and has had some terrible luck. Cant criticize him for not risking his mandatory position but wanting to stay busy... In all honesty, blame Eddie, if you believe in his journey then put up the reddies to get happy to agree a fight over here over the options he has in the US. Theres no way if the money was there he'd choose a fight with Thurman (the most dangerous fighter in the weight without a belt IMO) or another fight with Devon if he didnt have to.

Ovbiously if this idea was puit to Eddie we'd get some accountancy spiel, some other crap about options as well.

eddie hearns already stated on ifl it will be a nobody pretty much, theyre not going to risk there title shot. The only reason they'd give that up is for khan, according to eddie and kell... khan will be fighting floyd though so... it'l be a nobody in march, porter (or the winner of his next fight) in june.

There's a lot of tba on the echo card, anyone have any idea of any potential opponents? Fielding is fighting Dodson I believe, haven't heard anything on potential opponents for paul and Callum smith, nothing on who Mitchell is fighting either.

Just my opinion, but I think his own handlers would turn that one down. But Ive a feeling you might be kidding.I wouldn't be surprised if after his next one theres an announcement by Hearn that he will be campaigning at light middleweight.

Well,he certainly qualifies.Nearer 40 than 30,lost his last fight.Somebody similar, but not him.Might have too much left. They are in limbo, really.A crystal ball would come in handy,as they're really dependent on other fights and fighters.Just got a feeling hell make that move up.Probably also an easier division.Could see Canelo moving up soon.

They really are waiting for the perfect opportunity but I think they missed it, Porter destroyed Alexander so no way they put him in with him

Plus the only other people who can probably beat Porter is Thurman or Garcia who Brook wouldnt go near

The only person I can see them putting Brook in with is Maidana but thats still a risky fight and dont think Maidana takes it, this keeping and undefeated record gets ridiculous sometimes

Lets say Brook actually gets a title shot and beats Porter...then what? Surely it has to be the top guys in the division and no more Carson Jones types..no offence to Jones but Brook has to step up.

Will it be one big title fight for the payday ala Barker/Sturm against Maidana or Khan and reign over or do we think he can actually go on to great er things?

If he somehow win the belt he would defend it in Sheffield at least 3 times to any fighter from the UK around that weight

No way they risk him losing it in the next fight like Barker

They could cash out with a Floyd fight but by the time Brook wins one he will be retired, I honestly dont know what he is gonna do because there is hard hitters in that division

If he does manage to scrape the belt hel inevitably be put into fights with Malignaggi, Ortiz, Bundu. People we know are half decent but are very beatable one way or the other.

Kell brook has been protected. We gave Eddie props at the beginning for breathing some fresh air into British boxing on the hope he will be different to Frank. but he is exactly the same.

Brook is so over rated, he has a big punch in the first 6 rounds that's it.

:think A rematch with Barrie Jones would keep him on pace.

Does anybody still truly believe in Brook, I used to think he will go on and be a top fighter but I don't know now. I worry about his inside game, he got roughed up against Jones, what will Porter or Maidana do to him on the inside? I also question his stamina and whether he wants it or not. I don't think he will do much now, I hope I'm wrong.

Bundu deserves a shot at it in my opinion so I wouldnt be annoyed with that as his first defence at all, in fact I'd commend Eddie for making the fight. I think Shaefer would be so far up Eddies ar$e with a Broner fight that that would happen pretty soon after too... Hopefully in the UK so the nobhead knows what real hostile atmosphere is!

(My answer is an extension of your hypothetical theory of Kell winning the strap btw, I've not seen enough of Porter to judge his chances)
