so which is it...fury only wins because he's tall or because he's talented?

He won't beat Haye it would be a huge upset if he did.

Fury clearly has some ability, he's very big, hit's pretty hard, has a decent jab but he has a lot of flaws as well. Chin is very average, tends to trade when he should box making him easy to hit, can be ungainly and uncoordinated, makes a lot defensive errors and of course a tendency to punch himself in the face.

If Fury wins he will have to fight the perfect fight and fight to a level we simply haven't seem him perform at before. He'll need to box well at range, not get caught trading with Haye in an act of bravado which would seem to go against his personality. He'll need to show better defensive skills than he has shown before or a much better chin than before because Haye has more than enough power to KO Fury.

Nothing I have seen of Fury makes me think he can beat a fighter on Haye's level should he win it will be due to him raising his performance to a level so far unseen from him.

Being tall helps but if he wins it is because he is talented you wouldn't get anywhere just because you were tall. but being tall is obviously an advantage.

he's a pretty good fighter any way you slice it.

i find it amusing when i hear he only wins because he's so tall.

when has being really tall for a heavyweight been an advantage? if anything it's been seen as a weakness.

    but haters will hate.

If Fury was 6'4 and below, the best he'd do is win the british title.. that's as far as he'd possibly reach.

At 6'9, the best he'll do is reach a fight like Haye, only to get knocked spark out.

    That'll be all.

Tall alone gets you nowhere. Fury has some talent - that is without question. But he as he admits is a one trick pony. His chin is very suspect. He's better than many around today..but I don't see him beating around a dozen fighters floating around the top. If he wins I will be very suprised and will get behind him. Just can't see it tho. KO waiting to happen. Writings on the wall and has been for some time...and now he's stepping up against a big puncher. Doesn't bode well for him me thinks.

fury is not a bum..he is decent..however he is sloppy and takes to many shots and has dodgy footwork and balance and in my opinion hasnt been hit by any heavy hitters yet and when he does he will not be getting back up...

He wins because he's a really busy tall guy. That is a good combination
to have against small heavyweights that throw 25-30 punches a round. It won't
save him against a mobile puncher like Haye. It's good enough to make him a
    legit top 15 guy though.

In fairness to Fury he is only 24 and hasnt a bad resume for his age. He has some skill but makes mistakes and tends to get caught up in the fight at times and forget his gameplan/make mistakes. But he can use his size to his advantage eg vs Cunningham. That looks ugly but takes a bit of versilitity and know how too.
