Congrats to Sergio but Jr almost had him out in the 12th. Shouldn't a so called "P4P" fighter like Sergio with 17 years experience know better than to get dropped and almost out by a fighter with just 47 fights total? Is Jr better than most give him credit for?

Chavez is big and strong, he had a chance for KO coming into this fight, and he almost had it.

I dont know how people are complaining about this! Sergio schooled Jr for eleven rounds then got caught by a punch from a guy that outweighed him by approximately 20 pounds got up and then went shot for shot with him until the bell ended. If anything this just makes Martinez look that much better

I think sergio wanted to go for the big finish and get a knockout at the end but underestimated chavez's ability to take a punch. Martinez landed countless body shots that I thought would have slowed him down even more and sapped his endurance but Chavez kept coming, next to Carl Froch this guy has got one of the best chins in boxing.

That's what exactly happened. Martinez got careless and he paid for it.

Chavez Jr is that bad. Sexy Sergio did everything but knock him out, but it's hard to knock someone out who was born with an iron chin and also has 25 pounds over you. That major size advantage also allowed Chavez Jr to hurt Martinez with the first shot he didn't see coming.
