Well, Mikey is about a year older than Russell.

If Russell gets, and takes a shot at a title sometime this year, that puts them at about the same pace. Especially considering that Mikey has probably been fighting professionally a lot longer, Russell may actually have achieved more, at a younger age.

Russell needs to step up before he stagnates. He's an immense talent, but Al Haymon keeps getting him good pay days fighting club fighters in 8 rounders on HBO and that isn't good for Russell or boxing fans.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing Russel Jr fight more and bigger fights, but you make a good point here.

Russell clearly has more potential, Lemieux is going nowhere. Aydin is still #1 on seniority and lack of reach.

 

Not so. Aydin isn't as T'Rex'd as Russell or Lemieux.

Gary Russsel Jr is an suspect prospect IMO

 

Nothing suspect about Russell Jr. The man is a great combo puncher has blinding hand speed, fastest hand speed in boxing, good pop and fundamentals and would IMO embarrass the lower top 10 in his division who would be dazzled and frozen by his hand speed alone.:deal He's about as sure as a can't miss prospect as there is in the sport today. He just isn't getting the opportunity to show it which is a damn shame.

Why can't they even put him in with an ex champ up in weight? I don't want to see him get thrown to the wolves before getting his feet wet. That's how you ruin a very very good prospect.
