Now that he is the WBA welterweight champion, who does Margarito go after next in the WW division?

Here are the champs as of today 7/27:

    WBA - Antonio Margarito
    WBC - Andre Berto
IBF - Joshua Clottey or Zab Judah (fight on 8/2)
    WBO - Paul Williams

Or does he go after PBF, DLH, or Cotto again?

He should go after Oscar. If that fight doesn't pan out, he should go after the Clottey/Judah winner.

I think the most money will be a cotto rematch, if cotto wants to fight him again. I don't think DLH will fight him, so I think that Paul Williams rematch will be next on the menu.

    Wlad, of course.:yep

Seriously, probably Clottey again after Joshua takes out Gab. He can ring up another strap and silence all of those who thought Clottey could hang with him.

    Man I hate your avatar:lol:

But to the question, a rematch with Williams makes the most sense. The winner is the clear welterweight king

How about a mini unification tournament between all the current welterweight champions. I don't know how the pairings will be made but it will be a simple two round tourney with the end result being the Undisputed Welterweight Champion.

i wouldn't mind seeing him fight the winner of judah-clottey, then a rematch with williams for a true unification fight... i don't see berto ever getting into a ring with margo at this point

maybe the winner of the mosley-mayorga fight (ie mosley)?

actually now that i think about it some more, what about moving to 154 and fighting daniel santos now that santos has a belt, is nearing the end of his career, and holds a victory over margo to boot?

In my opinion it would be a smart business move on Tony's part to attempt to draw Floyd or Oscar out , for big money.

I think Williams should have to come through Shane Mosely, or Miguel Cotto to get Tony.
My hope is that Miguel gets the Williams fight and exposes him even worse than Quintana did. I feel Cotto presents a real threat to Williams in that he can fight as a southpaw with more power than Quintana, more speed, better boxing ability and a brutal body attack which we saw none of last night.

This sets up a huge rematch for Cotto IF he can pull it off.
And a huge money fight for Tony.

Are you Margarito's accountant? Isn't it about getting the best possible matchup in the welterweight division. This is the same **** Floyd fans use to get ridiculed for.

    My top choices:

    1) DLH (but no way in hell that happens)
    2) Santos
    3) Williams
    4) Clottey/Judah winner
    5) Nuzhnenko (his mandatory)
