What now or then? Back then I was a noob and nothing happened. Now it's been replaced by the crazy 80's style black man picture Mohak found in an internet cafe.
Mayweather would clearly have the advantage.Floyd would make Williams miss a lot.It would still be a very tough fight. But Paul will always have problems with boxers.
Williams is too big for Floyd to hit, Quintana took risks and jumped right into Williams to land those big punches, Mayweather would not do that, he's too small for Williams.
i am not willing to go so far as to say that williams would beat mayweather, or even that it is likely. however, it is clear that the punisher would show floyd challenges that he has not yet, which is a start. williams long jab and straight combinations could give floyd problems. the way williams cuts off the ring with with slashing right hands, his awkward long leans away from punches would be challenges that could definitely put floyd in tough spots. the only time we have seen floyd in with any fighter really close to williams dimensions was in his fight with diego corrales and corrales' personal issues, distraction and subpar training clearly were his ruin that night. corrales completely failed to even attempt to exploit any of his advantages. in addition, corrales was no accurate technician and could never resist the temptation to brawl and in doing so closed the distance sloppily and handed his reach over to mayweather by languishing on the inside. that said, it is hard, even considering the quasi-retirement layoff and being out of his best weight classes, to imagine williams overcoming the intangibles that made floyd the pound-for-pound best in the business.
