I am not in the medical field. but i know a IV is nothing but a saline solution which is only salt and water. the sole purpose being dehydration I dont think that is going to clean blood maybe a urine cleaning.

If something else was in the IV besides the normal saline soloution then that is a different discusssion.

Only reason people use iv is to flush the PEDs out of their system. If your dehydrated you drink, no one is that bad they need iv.
