What are the current odds for Calzaghe and Roy Jones?

i dont think u can ever say a good fighter has no chance, but let's face it, Jones is no better than solid right now. he's a huge underdog in this one.

Styles make fights and this is where Jones really falls short. Jones doesn't intimidate anymore and has lost a lot of his foot movement. He looks to potshot and move out. Jones still has fast hands and remains a very sharp puncher but he never had great power at lhw. He likes to rest on the ropes and maintain a very methodical pace.

On the otherhand, Calzaghe likes to overrun his opponents with workrate and possesses a very good chin. He will take the fight to Jones.

Jones can't win on pts and even if he knocks Joe down, Calzaghe has proven he can recover and dominate. Hopkins is far rougher and stronger than Jones so Roy will have a far harder timing spoiling Calzaghe's offense.

If Jones wins, it has to happen early but even if he hurts Calzaghe, he is not a great finisher. If I had to guess, the fight stays competitive the first 6, then Calzaghe takes over and wins by 8 or 9 pts.

I think Joe cant hurt roy and will make him chase him down.. I think roy will out point joe with a simple jab.. I love RJJ but i dont want him to fight KP who i love. Roy couldnt take a pavlik right hand anymore... A prime RJJ is the best middleweight of all time. Even Hagler who is ranked very high among every1 even after being robbed by SRL

i think roy should be like a 4 to 1 dog in wales and maybe 3 to 1 in vegas

which means he has like a 20-25% chance of winning

    i hope he wins though

Roy doesnt have the workrate anymore Calzaghe throws those slaps but its still punching and its still to the judges eyes scoring and winning, Roy also doesnt have the stamina Bhop has even more so at his age now I hate the fact this fight is happening and would love to see Roy win as hes always been one of my faves while i dont like Calzaghe but i just cannot see him winning.

Thanks, some people are underestimating Roy and overrating Calzaghe. Roy also feels he has something to prove.

I bet Frank Warren would at least have a little sideways smirk if Jones beats Calzaghe....

roy has a decent shot. he's still faster handspeed wise than calzaghe, and he can still hit when he sits down on his punches. however, i think he downfall will be calzaghe's workrate as well as roy's fast fading reflexes and footspeed. roy does best against guys like trinidad who basically fight at a slow pace. calzaghe punches in bunches and roy won't be able to match his workrate. plus, roy doesn't have the ablity to avoid punches like he did in his prime. i can see calzaghe forcing roy to the ropes and keeping him there with a 3 minute slapathon. i see roy having his moments, but calzaghe should win by UD.
