This is to those who say Floyd is cherrypicking. A glance over the top 10 of both welterweight and light middleweight divisions will reveal Alvarez as the only potentially competitive fight. Tell me if I'm wrong. http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?sex=m&division=Welterweight http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?sex=m&division=Light Middleweight So does that mean that 4 of the remaining Showtime fights are cherrypicks? (assuming he fights Alvarez sometime within the next year)
If he fights and gets past Alvarez, every fight is a cherry pick outside of Golovkin or Martinez at MW or Ward at a CW of 164.
If floyd dose not fight Garcia and Trout at the same time with the ghost of Cus d'amato as a trainer then he is ducking.
Trout, Lara, Molina, Andrade are all way more interesting fights than Khan, Alexander, Guerrero, etc. Well Molina not that interesting, but as bad TV goes, rather that than Alexander
Alvarez, Matthysse, Maravilla, Trout, Molina. Not that hard. Guerrero IMO was never a cherry pick, it was obvious the first half of fight he was still in it, but not exactly what the people wanted and had very little time at 147, just like Marquez. Lucas is no 147lber, but he is considered by most as the best 140lber and many *****s here claim Floyd isn't a natural147lber he could make 140 yet he couldn't make 144 for Marquez! Which is it? Make up yo minds already.
x2. basically that. He is about the only fighter in history that is not allow to fight top fighters his size.
Oh please. If Floyd fought Trout now certain people would consider it a cherrypic after Alvarez. Molina has nothing for Mayweather - he's crafty and dirty - Mayweather is craftier and dirtier. Yeah Mayweather is going to fight a 140lb who's never won a belt and nobody would consider that a cherrypick yeah right
It'd be fine if him and his fanboys didn't make a big deal out of him being a 2x and current champ at 154, rated #1 till recently. If you wanna be a legit champ at the weight, you can't only fight past prime guys undersized for the weight class.
Welterweight now, compared to what was available a few years ago, seems like cherry picking. Many of his possible opponents wouldn't have even cracked the top 8 or 10 a few years ago, when guys like Williams, Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, Pacquiao, Cintron, Mosely, etc. were all legit contenders.
He can start with Canelo. by that point Trout will have won a couple of fights. Btw, that was a very close fight, Canelo vs Trout. I had Trout by 1 pt, but open scoring ruined it, Canelo was coasting with a huge lead on the cards
