Canelo, Trout, Pacquiao would do for me. When you only fight once a year and call yourself the best p4p you have to fight the best and Mayweather hasn't done that for a long time.

Canelo is considered THE champ at JMW. He will either be fighting Cotto or Mayweather next. Both those guys are past their primes and undersized for JMW.

Maybe that's cause he fought another top 10 SWW.

You ever wonder why the stubby past prime guy Floyd beat for his title has no issues facing all these guys?

The Canelo fight will happen within the next year so i excluded for a reason.

Trout can win 5 fights in a row, he doesn't have the style to beat Floyd, and hits nowhere near hard enough

At 154: Alvarez and both Martinez and GGG (Both said they would fight at 154)
From 147 and 140 Bradley, Marquez 2 (would probably do better now that hes adjusted at the weight but said himself hes not interested but im still mentioning him), Pac, Garcia, Matthyse and Alverado.

All of the above i am sure would do better than Guerrero who simply is not even a light welter let alone a welter, the guy is a small lightweight.

Indeed, other than Trout his comp has been shocking. But hey, Top 5 Cotto is a backup option for Floyd, who's still #1 contender at 154 and whom Canelo is trying to chase down.

The era sucks badly now if you think about it.

Cotto was the number 1 guy at 154 when Mayweather fought him. However, you ignored that and simply claimed he was past his prime and undersized. Mayweather is even older and more undersized at JMW.

Well he'd give Floyd a way better fight than Alexander, Guerrero, Khan, etc. In fact Khan is a good comparison, Trout is not quite as fast (but very fast, esp on his feet), but he's a lot bigger, more stout and probably harder punching (via size).

I'm not sure how you can dismiss Guerrero and name guys like Garcia, Matthysse and Alvarado.

Sure but Floyd is much much better preserved. Regardless, that's my point. No matter how proper it looks on paper, you're not above a paper champ if you'll only fight past prime guys that started 2 divisions lower.

What the hell has Guerrero done above 135, he beat Berto ... thats literally ALL he has done.... and Berto is already proven to be not very good.

Guerrero was a solid Featherweight... he was already small at lightweight and at Welter he was flabby and slow.

Size comes into play as well, and Guerrero literally had 1 semi meaningful fight above 135.... just 1 .... how the hell does that give him a shot vs the p4p nr1?

Literally everybody i mentioned has a better resume at 140 or higher.

Again, Mayweather is also past his prime and and started out 5 divisions below JMW. By your twisted logic, if someone beat Mayweather at WW, it wouldn't elevate them past a paper champ due to Mayweather being past his prime and due to him starting out 4 divisions below WW.

How much boxing do you even watch? A guy like Alvarado would get wrecked by Berto. Guerrero at least has a resume at WW. Matthysse, Garcia and Alvarado have done nothing at WW. You tell me what problems any of them would present to Mayweather? They would all be severely out classed. None of them are as talented as Guererro.

Obviously I think Floyd is a better welter champ than Cotto is a SWW champ. Look at Cotto's SWW reign, it's sad.

A better comparison is, Broner goes up and to take the belt off Paulie. When serious comp comes calling, Broner slinks down to 135 to fight Miguel Vazquez, while holding on to the welter belt for a year.
