Usyk and Joyce are no longer prospects.

Out of the current crop mentioned the one who'll go furthest is Makhmudov. I don't see anything too special about Hrgovic, though he's better than Dubois. Makhmudov though has that it factor. Gonna be a hard man to beat.

Of course and I do not care who will be champ etc.
If you will pay me to think about this, I will think. Otherwise sorry, no.
You are part of small niche fanbase for a professional boxing.
It is small niche and no one outside your niche cares about this boxing and who will be a champ.
Get this that majority of ppl on the street maybe doesn't wish even to hear about boxing events.
You are living like in your niche and think that it is important for everyone.

I hesitate to pick Cuban heavyweights, because in general they have a poor history in the pros.

But Frank Sanchez seems legit. He's been a pro for three years. He's had 16 fights. He can box and punch. He beat Erislandy Savon in the amateurs. He's 28. And he seems to get better each time I see him.

I used to be high on Hrgovic. Be he seems like he's stuck in the mud - in terms of improving his skills and his career.

    A) We don't care if it is important to anyone or not.
    B) Why in the hell are you posting on a boxing website? Get lost.

    That is all.

the same CW Dorticos does have high stoppages percentage. He can beat, okey, lost to Briedis and Gassiev, didn't stopped Masternak.
Still nice, look how he stopped Tabiti?

    Uh, you spoke plural:

"You are part of small niche fanbase for a professional boxing."

I can't argue with stupid. I have explained again and again--he is throwing a very low volume of punches relative to what he can in these heavyweight fights, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HE HAS ALWAYS DONE IN EASY FIGHT. He is throwing 50 punches a round when he could be throwing 80.

When he fights Joyce, he will throw 80.

These have basically been sparring sessions.

I think Jalolov is way better than Makhmudov. Much quicker, more fluid, much better amateur and also has a brutal power, southpaw stance and is even slightly taller than Makhmudov. Plus he has a lot more time on his side. Another underrated prospect is Zhan Kossobutsiy, although like Makhmudov, he isn't a youngster

Dorticos is a good fighter. I don't really consider him a heavyweight prospect, though. He's 34 and been a pro for more than a decade.

The Cuban heavyweights since Castro haven't met expectations - like Jorge Luis Gonzales, Odlanier Solis, etc. But Sanchez seems to have his head on straight. He didn't make a couple dollars and then decide that was good enough, time to relax. He keeps improving. I never gave him much thought until recently. But he impresses me each time I see him.

The problem is, if the level of comp is not increased, he will not learn and improve.

it may be too soon for him to fight the A-level guys but he needs to increase his level of comp above the C-level people he has been feasting on.

Don't sleep on Bakhodir Jalolov. Might be the one with highest ceiling.

Zhan Kossobutskiy is good, decent size, solid technique, great amateur experience and lots of power in both hands. We saw how many puncher Sokolowski took against Vykhirst. Zhan took it easy and had no urgency against him in their fight, he wanted to get rid of the ring rust and get some rounds after the covid break. Once he stepped on the gas pedal in the final round he got the stoppage.
Atm my top 3 prospects are Hgrovic, Jalolov and Jared Anderson.
Makhmudov is fun to watch and has wtf power, but in the end he's kinda limited, he can become a contender, but I don't see him as a champ.
Yoka has improved a bit when it comes to one of his greatest flaws (defence), but while he beat Christian Hammer the later was also just coming back after recovering from Covid, over 5 pounds heavier than in his last fight and 20 pounds heavier than in the Fury fight, that should tell you all you need to know.

Yeah, he looks too small for HW but maybe he could at least take some fights with HW guys? His resume is good and he is not boring.
The same with Briedis, this too might take some fights with HW guys? He might be boring but did had also exciting fights. not bad vs Dorticos, interesting fight vs Glowacki, definitely not boring. Ws Usyk he too was not boring, really watchable vs Charr, Durodola, Venter.
Of course he might look boring in some fights if not in best shape. Might be also fights interesting to watch.
