So who thinks Fury won't be the same fighter?

After all his issues and huge weight gain.

If this comeback is serious and he does things properly, not to mention gets his licence, I'd like to think he can get back to his best.

I know he's gained a frightening amount of weight but there are countless examples of fighters doing this over the years only to come back and compete at the highest level. Duran, Morales, Hatton and even Fury to name a few.

I think it could certainly affect the longevity of his career; you won't see a 41 year old Tyson Fury fighting in wembley as Wlad did, that's for sure. But I don't think Tyson has a long career in him anyway.

As a Tyson Fury fan; if he could come back for a few years and see off AJ, Wilder, Parker etc, I'll be more than happy to let him retire and be fat for life!

But the question is; is he physically capable to get back into that 12 round fighting shape and sustaining it after such a bad period. At 28 and with the right attitude, I think he can get away with it this once. But he'll have to look after himself from here on in.

Hes going to have a tougher time fighting better guys even Wlad in a rematch would prove difficult now for him. His body type suggests he wont be as good and really what did he learn from the klitchko fight? not much bc neither actually did anything.

I'll be shocked if he is able to return to the form he had before. Losing the weight while a huge task, while he's ballooned up before between fights this isn't just 30-40lbs he has to lose, it's over 100lbs. I think he can lose it if determined enough but I still have serious doubts over his ability when he does return.

It's not just drastic weight loss that may effect him. He's been abusing drugs and we've seen plenty of boxers ruined by that. That combined with his poor mental health and the fact he likely won't be doping like before will mean we'll likely see a diminished Fury.

It'll be good to see him back to his best but it'll be unlikely. He has been way overweight before and then came back to half decent shape so you never know. With Fury it's more of a mental thing, if he stays determined then he could get back to his best.

Don't think he'll be the same. Residual effects of whatever substance he was abusing.

I do... He should stay away from the sport and make his retirement official.

He was fighting an uphill battle to get himself into and stay 'in shape' and overcome his demons even when everything was going well. He should never have blown up in weight that much. That's ridiculous. Can't see it myself. Waste of talent.

I think he whips himself into shape and gets his drive back. His dad and his uncle will help get him back on track.

The physical aspect isn't his biggest issue. His mental collapse coupled with drug abuse and doping are far bigger hurdles to fully overcome. Fury acknowledges suffering from depression but his erratic behavior suggests far bigger problems. He can lose the weight but can he lose the baggage?

10% chance he comes back and ultimately becomes as good or better than he was versus Wlad
70% chance he comes back and doesn't compete well enough in the very top fights
20% chance he doesn't make it back at all
The physical problems seem to be symptoms of the mental health issues which appear to constitute the real challenge. Not a fan, but hope he beats his demons once and for all, irrespective of what happens inside the ring

He's not been out of action much longer than Klitschko was.

Well this is just blatant ******ation. He learned how to completely nullify the attack of an ATG when he fought Klitschko. But do please continue with your idiocy, you're doing a great job.

Being a sports scientist, and a former personal trainer, i would say it's highly unlikely Fury can retain the same level of health and fitness he had.

He will obviously still have the boxing brain inside, but to still have the right reflexes, timing, movement, strength complete conditioning. That takes time to bring back. 15 months of pure conditioning and a tune up fight may do the trick to bring him close to his former self.

It all depends on Fury and his own mental focus and wellbeing, if he is at peace with his mind and is willing to push his body past its physical limitations then he will come back if he truly wants it like he says he does.

    I hope so..

He's a warrior. Mentally wise, it won't have any affect on him in the ring.
