Defitnately not needed. Cotto took a MUCH BIGGER beating than Cintron did, and look what happened when they rematched.

Psychologically, it will be very hard for Cotto to recover.

I honestly do not want to see Cotto ever take another beating like that.

    I do. Definately.

Would be interesting to see what the odds would look like in a rematch! If Cotto was a major underdog I would definately lay some money on Cotto to avenge himself.

But first I'd like to see Cotto come back against maybe a guy like Berto / Clottey / Judah (rematch) see how he fares

Once Cotto has rested, had time to reflect, hopefully he will decide what he wants to do next, either a warm-up fight before taking on Tony again, or a straight rematch. Does anyone know if there was a rematch clause in the contract?

If this was 60 years ago, Margarito/Cotto II would've taken place in Yankee Stadium in September in front of 50,000 fans.

I don't. Cotto tried and imo he put on the best possible performance. But he didn't once have Margarito hurt.

If he does fight him again and tries to move more he is only going to incense Margarito to press harder. And the less punches you hit Margarito with the more willing he is going to be in walking right in.

The rematch is pointless right now and IMO would only end up in a second victory for AM. It would be AM/Cintron all over again.

It's hard for any fighter to avenge devastating defeats!

Later on, yes.... but not right away. Margarito needs to fight Williams, and Cotto needs to rack up some wins to shake off tonight's fight.

Absolutitee. Let us give Cotto the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the cat can bounce back. He's done enough for this fine sport of ours to deserve a rematch thus chance to prove he's found a way to beat Margo. See, if this happens, every single one of you will be screamin' part 3. Wouldn't that be cool?

Yes, Margo only really has Cotto or Williams to fight anyway. If Cotto can keep doing what he did for the first 5 rounds he wins. If he gets his shots off first continually he wins. He needs to comeback in better condition because he can beat Margo, he has the superior skill
