I recall him stating that on several occasions. But the thing of it is, I'd imagine Froch's concerns would be the same type of concerns that Golovkin, Ward, and others would have regarding the prospects of facing Hopkins. Maybe it will be Chavez Jr, but if it is, I still believe Hopkins would be a rightful favorite going into that. :smoke
He should be good to go, his manager said he'll return to the ring early 2016, so basically any time now. About the Hayman thing, perhaps your right, unfortunately uncle Al has quite a few quality lhws I know he was mentoring him, and he's a part of golden boy, but maybe Hopkins will fight Shabranskyy? A fight where he'd be an underdog, but a winnable fight for him. Another guy who's highly ranked, but would probably lose to Bernard is Fonfara, but again he's with Al
Hey, you are right. BHOP did recently say that he wants to make the fight with Abraham. It slipped my mind. Haven't heard if Abraham agrees though. BHOP did say he's willing to go to Germany too.
Could be, but again, he's with Haymon. After the games Haymon/Stevenson tried playing with Hopkins, this seems unlikely I'd think.
If that's the case, I don't think it will be him. I was under the impression it's a specific fighter - not something dependent on the winner of another match-up. It's also someone he said he would be an underdog against. I hope it's Golovkin or Froch, personally. But I know this is probably a pipe dream on my part. :smoke
BHOP is in a bad position. Too good to be a 51 year old Pro. Too much risk for little award. :yep He will take it easy, take a soft touch, and hopefully earn his last $500K professional purse. Then it's, Full time wearing the GBP VP cap. Perhaps a good commentating gig with one lucky network.
It's definitely not supposed to be a soft touch. But I agree, Hopkins is (and has been) in a situation where it isn't always easy for him to land big fights because of his amazing talent at such an advanced age.
Well.. I think Hopkins can beat Froch and Golovkin. And even if he cannot at the advanced age of 51, I still think he gives them both competitive fights - something he couldn't do against Kovalev. :smoke
Juergen Braehmer:think The Oosthuizen fight is off, it could be another easy title for him. Although Braehmer wouldn't be a walk in the park.
Well if it is happening at 168, it's gotta be AA, Bhops has mentioned him before. Wants to win a strap in a division he's never fought before and against a name. Even tho, even at this stage, gotta say Hopkins-Degale would be very intriguing. But yea, by the looks of it, it may be Hopkins-Abraham! Would be nice to see the Hopkins go out with a win.
