Don't think its quite as bad as that I think there is a very good 50/50 fight as the main event, I think Smiths opponent is being massively underrated and I think he is better than Groves' and maybe even Degales opponent and I think that is a 60/40 fight likewise is the Degale fight then you have Groves who is never in a dull fight too. Quigg is also an exciting fighter and who doesn't want to watch Joshua? Don't know anything about McDonells opponent if I'm honest so I cant really pass judgement on that one but hopefully they will have another good fight to add to the bill too. Look I'm not going to pretend its the best bunch of fights ever but I think you have a mixture of exciting fights, good competitive fights and some serious needle between some of the fighters and the main event might be a FOTY contender.
it wouldnt be a bad nights entertainment but the whole PPV aspect has bombed this show out...its dead to most proper boxing fans
Actually no they're horrible fights style wise as Periban is a slow as hell and will just be plodding around the ring all night without a clue against someone as quick as Degale and the guy fighting Callum has some decent technical skills and is a good step up for Callum on paper but is also a powder puff puncher that won't be able to make any kind of impact to win the fight. Now if they matched Periban against Smith and Sjekloca with Degale, those would have been far better match-ups style wise and more importantly entertainment wise.
if smiths opponents odds start dropping I'd have a sneaky bet, Smith looks good against pumped up middleweights and cans he's been against so far, this is a bit step up, so I wouldn't rule out a defeat, and may back it above 10-1. doubt degales doing to lose though
Who is Scott Quinn? You would rather see fodder like Gavin "You know what I mean" McDonnell and Stephen Ormond than World Class talent like Degale (Who is in a decent fight considering he is already in a mandatory position) Quigg, Groves and the future of Heavyweight boxing Anthony Joshua?
