So, why did Hopkins choose to fight Kovalev over Stevenson?

Because Stevenson was the hardest fight.

    Stevenson is faster and smarter.

As far as I remember Stevenson/Haymon where dicking Hopkins around at the negotiations, so he told them to go **** their selves.

I believe he said this when the fight was announced on the Kovalev-Caparello card.

Boone also beat Adonis by KO.

Hopkins is fighting Kovalev because they're both interested in making the best possible fight.

Perhaps Adonis won't **** his pants from the victor? But we all know he will.

Stevenson isn't some great fighter. Fonfara badly exposed him.

    Bingo!
Stevenson is definitely quicker and faster than Kovalev.

I'm looking at Kovalev highlights and he is not only slow, but he manuevers the ring robotically.

Stevenson is the better athlete and Hopkins knows to stay away from those.
