that's the problem though, you wont be able to get away with it once HBO starts seeing the negativity that it's bringing........it aint that easy bro

The purses may be high but they are filling their station with a product that can get decent numbers. Deadwood cost 5 million bucks per episode.

An episode of Deadwood was worth many times as much as Berto/Urango.

I got no problem with HBO paying their fighters well. They are looking for a superstar like LL or RJJ or ODLH that can bring in the viewers and the $. I do have a problem with the fighters when their business sense gets all jacked up because of it.

    Examples:
Berto who was life and death with Luis Collazo demanding 50/50 with a ring legend like SSM. He should be jumping to try and get a name like Molsey on his record and prove he isn't an HBO hype job. He's getting Molsey at the downside of his career but a guy that still in the top 15 P4P. I read HBO was pissed that he wouldn't accept 40/60 but they in a sense can be seen to have caused this.

    Second Example:

Angulo-turns down a career high payday and a shot at the middleweight title against Martinez. I still don't know why he turned down the fight but HBO needs to quit feeding this guy bums. He fought one solid fighter in Cintron and lost.

I like both Berto and Angulo, but they both lost alot of respect in my mind by doing what they did.

Now HBO is trying to feed Berto some 140lbers. I get it, he'll look good and people will get excited to see him that are casual viewers, but eventually you gotta do something.

Steward was not allowed to even mention Klitschko name! HBO appears to have a personal vendetta against Klitschkos, yet they get highest viewing ratings. Can't tell different between Vitali and Vlad?! Well, I can, and so can other fans. Greenburg is blind!

Sturm gets 2 mill fighting no-namers. AA get at least 3 mill fighting whomever. Kessler get at least 2 mill fighting whomever.

HBO are not really overpaying compared to the pay of some of the biggest European names.
