So why doesn't Roach like the Mosley fight?

I get the impression that Mosley could be 90 years old & for whatever reason, Roach just doesn't like that fight. I know Mosley excels against guys that come to fight instead of boxers, but so does Pacquaio. You got to go with the younger man, but I'm curious about Roach's perspective:think I'm sure Roach will gain more confidence & hype his man up during preparation for the fight (assuming they do fight), but in the back of his mind, that doubt will still be there. He just doesn't like the fight

    This^
+ Shane likes to crowd a fighter & take them to the ropes = Manny's worst attribute.
(Watch any recent Manny fight & listen to the first thing Roach tells him)

    This fight will be dangerous.

The only time I remember Roach opposing a Mosley fight, was before (or slightly after) the Hatton win. This was at a time when Pacquiao was still an unknown commodity at welterweight. A lot has changed since then – destructions of Cotto, Clottey and Margarito – and I’m pretty sure Roach will be more open to the idea now.

If Pacquiao fights Mosley, people will say he's fighting old men.

If Pacquiao does not fight Mosley, people will say he fears Mosley.

Nah man throughout all his interviews it's a fight he's never been enthusiastic about.

It's odd how some people can recognize how dangerous a fight this is, based off of styles and other people just dismiss Shane as shot and Pacquiao as cherry-picking. No one has ever "cherry-picked" Shane Mosley and that includes Floyd. Mosley has yet to hit the mark where he is a cherry-pick fight in any way for anyone 154 and under.

This is because dismissing a fight before it happens makes people think they know and understand the sport better than the next guy. And many have an agenda for or against another fighter.

As old as Mosley is, it takes some adjustment to go from a plodders like Clottey and Margarito to someone who can box with speed and power. Could end up being a wakeup call for the pacman

mosley, despite not being as fast and fresh as he once was ,is still one of fastest strongest most powerful opponents pac will have faced.

BUT... mosley looks for the knockout,if it almost happens, but doesnt,he wastes rounds chasing it instead of setting the knock outs up by boxing smart and allowing them to come, instead he tries forcing them,vs fast good boxers tht is hard to make happen.

mosley likes to fight more than box, hence why vs floyd and cotto he forgot gameplans didnt listen to his corner and lost rounds looking for knockouts instead of letting his combinations go and just boxing for the knockouts.

Marquez would be the harder boxing match, but the easier safer fight in terms of danger of getting hurt and fighting a smaller blown up guy, less blown up vs floyd though i would have thought.

I cannot believe anyone could possibly think that Mosley could beat Pac at this stage in his career... the same Mosely who was destroyed by Mayweather and then fought to a draw with Mora... seriously???
