So why is Mayweather being so evasive about the "rib injury?"

Almost as if the injury.....naw, couldn't be.

Asked again if it happened while sparring or running or some other exercise, Mayweather offered only, "I would never tell exactly what happened. I just had a rib injury. But by Sept. 19 you won't be able to tell because I'm going to perform. I'm going to be at my best."
Pressed again during the call, Mayweather sounded like he was getting annoyed.
Reporter: "Why is it a secret about your rib injury? Can't you just say, 'Hey, I took a shot [in the ribs]'?"
Mayweather: "Wait, slow down. Slow down. Who said it was a secret? I got hurt in training and I'll leave it at that."
Reporter: "And how is your injury?"
Mayweather: "I don't have to go in depth about what happened to me. I got a rib injury in training and I'm healed, and now I'm ready to rock and roll."
Reporter: "You can't say whether it's from a punch or just hitting the bag, or what?"
Mayweather: "What did I just tell you?"

Because if it is true why would you allow your opponent to know what to go for

It's not like he has to say, "Well, it was a separation of the cartilage on the left side costal margin caused by a right counter uppercut."

I dont think there was an injury at all. I think Floyd starting sparring and his timing sucked. He got nervous and postponed the fight. Marquez is no joke really, and Mayweather wasnt feeling right. I say this because of some recent interviews where he was asking for his fathers opinion and his fathers comments.

I thought it was bull**** when it was first announced. Nothing has changed to make me think otherwise, certainly not Mayweather's bull**** interviews.

Because its fake. The fight is not reaching the minimum sales that are required for Floyd to get his $15 million. He is the promoter that means he gets more money if the fight does well but he also assumes a lot of the risk. When the ticket brokers come back demanding a refund for all the tickets they couldn't sell who do you think pays.

it's another one of Floyds BS. Even when Brian Kenny was asking him what caused the accident and he kept saying "a freak accident" lol.

It's so blatant the ticket sales were poor so he re-scheduled the fight nearer to the mexican independence day in the hope that sales would boost...or the ticket sales were doing ok but knowing Floyds greed he realized he could make more money if the fight was rescheduled nearer the mexican independence day.

most everything out of phloyd's mouth is fake. he is not a skillful liar. it's easy to see right through his lies. it was easy to see he was frightened of Margarito when confronted by Margarito himself or any questions about Margarito which made him very uncomfortable.

this injury is just another sham from a counterfeit, just like his retiremment, just like his $20 million payday from WWE, just like his excuses to duck Cotto, Mosley, Margarito and Pacquiao. fraud is a skilled handpicker and dodger and a very very good fighter with the carefully selected opponent, but he is not a good liar at all.

it's ticket sales obviously. he isn't scraed of marquez what he was scared of was having low PPV numbers and losing bargaining chips for a Pac fight thus he gets it postponed until a mexican celebration day to cash in on the mexican buys.

He faked it because the fight wasn't doing well.

Yeah I also think that it's a fake injury. How can't he say what exactly caused that? what can he get from non disclosing it? I just can't understand.
