I dont necessarily think hes better or think he can beat arrela either. Have to see more. Wilder vs Arreola is a live fight and either could win, imo. Might even favor Arreola. Stiverne, Arreola and Wilder all have extremely different attributes and styles. Trying to use one fight to guage the other is a fools errand.
It's very likely; however, we won't know until they fight, but, unfortunately, Arreola already passed on the opportunity when he had the chance, with the justification that Wilder was a sideshow or something to that effect. Now Wilder holds the cards and has richer fights than Arreola available to him now. Wilder is certainly better than the majority on this board thought. Personally, I can't see how Arreola could take away Wilder's jab. It's too fast, accurate, powerful, and long.....no h.omo.
They would acually have to fight for us to determine who is the better man of the two. But since we can make assumptions that probably aren't that ****ed up it's fine to assume that Wilder is the better fighter. One argument is that Arreola have alot more hidden potential then Wilder if he acually decided to train better. But Arreola has boxed profesionally for what, 12-15 years? If he hasn't made the necesarry improvements over that long of a time it's quite clear he won't do it for the rest of his career either. I mean really he has gotten TWO world title shots in my opinion none of the was really deserving ones either so if he wasn't more motivated to train hard and eat right for that there is no way in hell he's going to change. Sorry Arreola but you will be a fat, coulda, shoulda boxer for the rest of your career. Wondering what might have happend if you acually had some dicipline.
If you subscribe to triangle theory that beating the guy who beat another guy means you would also beat the third which you haven't actually faced. And if you believe that Stiverne was 100% and gave it all he had.
Cool logic bro. Remember when Oliver McCall ktfo Lennox Lewis? Well Lennox beat Holyfield and Tyson so clearly... McCall >>> Tyson and Holyfield.
I've been saying the same about Arreola for years as well. He's a domestic level heavyweight every time he has stepped up he has lost. Vitali made him cry, ittty bitty cruiser weight Adamek out boxed him and the unknown Stiverne busted him up in the first fight and finished off the job and stopped him in the rematch. Arreola has never beaten a contender in the 11 years he's been a pro and the 5 years he's supposedly been a contender. He's a nice guy and entertaining but it's clear he isn't world class and never has been. But his style and power would give Wilder more problems than Stiverne's did. But Wilder would likely beat him and KO him early. Arreola doesn't have the defensive skills that Stiverne has and would likely walk into a big shot.
Hardly so. Arreola faced a healthy, strong Stiverne. Against zombie Stiverne, he would have won too, but via stoppage.
I agree. I am bothered by any fighter that cannot take the time to be in shape. While Arreola is brave, I cannot make myself think he is a credit to the sport.
