I'm a Hatton fan. His fight with Tszyu was gutsy and fun to watch, and I was actually entertained by the Lazcano fight. Still, in all honesty, the Urango fight was as bad, if not worse, than a typical Ruiz fight. Hatton embodied hit and hold that night. It was disgraceful
Hatton used to be a very entertaining fighter. Against Tszyu he was much more of a mauler and wrestler, and it was a good strategy because it didn't allow Tszyu space to let off his shots, most notably his right cross (which Hatton took well when Kostya did land). I don't know if it's because he's just getting older and has had a lot of fights, or maybe he and his team figures it worked against Tszyu so might as well do it more, or the step up in opposition....but he's been much uglier to watch since then with the holding. The good thing about it though is that he does provide good action in between the ugliness. It's not as if he throws a jab or a quick 1-2 and clinches. He does throw hard shots, particularly to the body, trying to do real damage, when he's not wrestling. They're not merely stall tactics, because he'll break out of the clinch and throw shots. Sometimes I think the clinches are to set up his offense.
Funniest post of the day I hope you are being sarcastic cause if not watch the vid below it is pathetic.:hi:
That was round 12 of a fight he had already won against a desperate fighter trying to throw last minute haymakers. It's called smart tactical boxing.
If it's as bad as the Urango fight, I expect Peaches N Herb to perform halfway through to "set the mood" as they say.
Man he has been holding his whole career. And after he does it tonight I will bump this thread. HW will be doing it right form the start tonight as he always does.
Wasn't Floyd Sr. supposed to have broke that boy of that ****? I guess we'll find out here in a coupla hrs, huh?
